Internet Problems

Like out of no where alot of websites I normally visit are loading very slow, often times freezing my whole computer for a mintue or so. This is all very weird as my computer has always run pretty smoothly. I've done a couple of normal disk cleanup stuff, but its still acting a little werid. Anyone know what might cause this problem or how I could fix it?

Re: Internet Problems

Have you checked to see if you have any out of the ordinary processes running?

Try something like adaware to clean up any spyware that might be bogging things down, or try a free system scan at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Re: Internet Problems

also try running your anti-virus software in safe mode... my laptop had the exact same problem two weeks ago and i kept thinking i had to cycle up my modem- in the end, i had to reformat, unfortunately.

also try clearing your internet cache (if you use firefox, go to Tools/Options/Privacy-clear cache... in IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Delete Files).

Re: Internet Problems

run anti-virus (bitdefender is the best, turn on hueristic scanning, update the definitions... bitdefender has a good free version)

run anti-spyware (ad-aware is best, its free too)

Re: Internet Problems

I had that same problem once before and all I did was clean out my cookies and it worked. Some times they get corrupted.
