Any Lawyers in the House?

I have a job offer from Seyfarth Shaw's Chicago office and I've interviewed (on a callback) with Jones Day. Does anyone know anything about those two firms?

They sound prestigious enough to me. Go get 'em!

Thanks guys.

To elaborate more on Seyfarth Shaw and Jones Day, I know they are both big-name firms that pay a lot. However, I don't know what their "cultures" are like and it seems impossible to differentiate between them simply by looking at the NALP statistics. If anyone knows anything about those firms, please PM or respond to this message.

Jones Day is a sweatshop - they expect mad hours and no personal life. That is true, to an extent, for all big firms, but JD is really overboard. I don't know anything about Seyfarth Shaw.

That is the impression that I got. I just got rejected by them so there's no decision to make there. Fortunately, I got another offer from another firm (Godfrey Kahn) that is smaller than Seyfarth but pays about the same.

I like how you put the Bozo comment under your name Ramseyfan. That's classic.

Man he really missed the boat on that one! You think he can catch up to the rest of us that were on the Brunell bandwagon from the begining?

I'm not afraid to laugh at myself and admit it when I'm wrong.
