Today, Brunell looked like Ramsey

The difference between Brunell and Ramsey is that the former fumbles, but doesn't throw many picks, but the latter both fumbles (when hit) and throws picks. Today, Brunell was Ramsey.

Ok, maybe that's simplifying things since Brunell sees the field much better than Ramsey and is more willing to scramble to pick up yards.

The point of this thread is notNOTNOT to initiate Brunell vs Ramsey talk again, but initiate fan talk about the emphasis on better protection for Brunell, as well as Brunell's technique protecting the football. This far, Brunell as been miserable at protecting the ball. Hell, Simeon Rice could've pinched Brunell's a$$ and he would've coughed up the ball.

I just talked to my brother earlier and he said the same thing. Ramsey would get early turnovers, battle back and narrowly lose the game many times. That's pretty much what Brunell did today.

Re: Today, Brunell looked like Ramsey

Gibbs said, the name of the game is protection. That is the number one thing that makes this offense work, and without it, it falls. I thought for the most part, especially in the second half, we made the right adjustments to improve pass protection. As far as those two INTs, they came off of tipped or batted balls, so I don't read too much into those two turnovers although they are turnoves nevertheless.

I don't understand why Brunell has had so much trouble holding onto the ball when sacked. As best as I can recall, it's never a problem during his entire career

Re: Today, Brunell looked like Ramsey

Even with the turnovers, the fumbles and forced passes Walt Harris loss this game for the Redskins. He was called for offside on 3 and 4. He was burnt toast all day and he never played up on Galloway or Hilliard which eventually killed him. As Brunell, he played a decent game against the 1# defense in their home and he still was able to move the ball after his mistakes. That's the QB we need at the end of the day. He can win but so many games at the end of the game on the road. Brunell is still the best QB in the NFC East period.

The only bad play that can be attributed to Brunell is the fumble. The Two INTs weren't his faults, especially the first one! The Defense really stunk up the joint today!

I thought it was interesting to see Simeon Rice apply pressure to Mark Brunell on passing plays.

Maybe our defensive ends could try that sometime.

The two are not the same Ramsey may never be what we thought he was going to be! Yes Brunell put the ball on the ground. One time cooley blew a block and Rice should have never been blocked one on one! As for the Ints one was Pattons falt clearly! The other Rice again was in his face! Never should have been thrown! Lets look at the hole team!!! All the O hasn't protected the ball this season!!!

Re: Today, Brunell looked like Ramsey

Brunell played like Ramsey???????? That's F'ing crazy!!! Yea he fumbled but his INT's were clearly not his fault. The fact that Brunell hits multiple targets, scrambles for key 1st downs, and scrambles to get free to pass is something Ramsey never could do!! I can't belive your questioning a QB who led us to 35pts.. GET REAL!!!

Please!!!! Dont do this thread.......brunell had a decent outing...If Patton woulda come back towards ball and catch(Moss)NO pick!!!!!...second, Brunell shoulda audibled(which he said he doesnt dare in THIS weeks conference) in an OBVIOUS man 4 man coverage with man in motion and DB following !!!! QUICK SLANT not gonna work. Kudos for rice's hustle to make the pick....I'm finding it harder and harder to talk with the Negative fan base here!!!!Please guys...Keep your head up. Im impressed(once again) with our offensive game plan and performance!!!!! Ive told my family...of skins fans with over 2 centuries of devotion among us that we do NOT need to be so aggresive on defense!!! We have the talent on Offense greg!!!!!! We dont need u to win games THIS year. By the way...LOVE the new faces....
