Re: Where was the blitz???????????
baloney!we let hassleback sit in the pocket time after time with no pressure on him and make play after play.in the first meeting we blitzed play after play and won the game.the few times we got pressure on him,he did dumb things and basically threw the ball up for grabs.we need a stud pass rusher to really make this d a monster

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
We didn't blitz becuase the WC offense is designed to kill blitzes. What you do--and it worked pretty well--is that you interupt the timing of the passing game, and you stuff the run. If we could have also ball controlled against them, we'd have won. It was a good game plan. We just didn't fully execute--and I attribute that much more to injuries and fatigue (THREE games in a row on the road!) then to anything else.

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
The solution is 2# and 3# wideouts. Make David Patten earn his spot.
The best free agents are Brandon Llyod, Antwaan Randle-El, Nate Wayne and Eric Moulds. Take your pick. Our best bet is Antwaan Randle-El. Good route runner and punt returner.

Re: Where was the blitz?
To get back to this thread's topic, I think Williams was not blitzing as much because he had a lot of respect for their offensive line and running game. I don't know why we didn't blitz as much as usual, but that would be my guess. In any event, our defense played well against a great offense playing at home that had been rested.

Re: Where was the blitz???????????
YES! SOMEONE!... #2 and #3 WR's aren't going to matter when he's got dumbass Brunell with a 3rd and 9 and trying these damned bootleg screen shits. THATS THE PLAYCALLING!!!!Counter Tray... whatever... guard pulls... WHATEVER!!! I'm telling you Gibbsheads... It's not going to work next year, regardless. And to all of you that think I'm crazy.. watch. We'll go get Randle El.. and pussy ass David Patten will be healthy. SAME results if Gibbs is calling the offense. Let someone else have our offense... Mike Martz, Norv Turner.. blah.. We got a decent QB, a gamebreaker WR, and FRIGGING CLINTON PORTIS! Look at Cooley? If Gibbs would try and run his big ass, I think we may have a Riggins-esq FB. If this were the Rams and Mike Martz, then they would have gone to XL this year. Keep the Defense though. Gregg is a defensive juggernaut.

Wow, are we back in "piss on the legend" mode already? Good times.
