Re: Ryan Clark

Players like Clark will always have a roller coaster ride of a career in the NFL. The good news is that he overperforms and that allows have to have his career in the NFL at all. Good luck in the future Ryan Clark. I will welcome you back in a Redskins uniform if you return.

That wasn't my point. My point is it doesn't matter where your drafted. The fact that AA was drafted in the first round means nothing to me.

Nothing against Arch but I don't understand all this talk about a "core group of guys" and then letting Clark go. Arch WILL be more expensive and we have other more pressing needs than strong safety. Why in the world did we make such a boneheaded play? It will cost us financially (and possibly in terms of cohesion) in the long run.

First off we have no Idea what Clark wanted!!! We will see soon what he wanted. As for Clark he many not be goen. As for cohesion I believe this will not be a problem because these are great guys and the Skins I am sure have looked in to it!!!

Re: Ryan Clark

the only way clark deserves to be let go is if he was asking for too much $, which may be the case. I hate to see this, his comments are right on, we can't talk up "core" guys, then bring in a free agent to replace one. I'm also worried about the $ we gave archuleta.

still but meeting a guy isn't the same as after playing with him for a year. you don't know him as well and like the guy before said gotta keep the core group. only thing is D is easier to bring together than O. just remember we got GWill and JGibbs with the deep pockets of DSnuts

Who said that Clark was deemed a "core redskin"? My understanding is that the Skins have determined the 15 guys they feel like they need to keep together to keep continuity. I don't think that Clark could possibly be in that group of 15. I like him, but he isn't M. Washington, or Griff, or Jansen...

Re: Ryan Clark

15 guys don't make a team they don't need to be a MWash or CGrif or JJan to be a big part of the team.

Re: Ryan Clark

I don't recall Gibbs, Williams, Snyder, Cerrato, or anyone else within the organization stating that the term "core redskins" is restricted to only 15 players on the team. When anyone can find anything supporting that theory, let me know.
As for what Clark wanted, he made it clear in the article mentioned earlier that he wanted to start. And I think he deserves that opportunity considering that he had to beat out Bowen, Stoutmire, Prioleau, and Andre Lott (a year ago) to get his role with the team. It's not like he was a liability or weakness in our secondary.
Someone mentioned that we don't know what his teammates think of him. Well, I do know that Gregg Williams has praised him on several occasions, and both Marcus Washington and Mike Sellers have also had good things to say about him.
I suggest that SOME of you do a little research on Clark before suggesting that he may not be liked by his teammates or that he hasn't stated what he wants. The articles over the past year from the Washington Post have made it abundantly clear where he stands.

I'm totally with you, man. A core guy doesn't have to be a huge star. Monte Coleman was a classic example of that, especially in the 'Skins '91-92 super bowl run when he served as a backup used in nickel situations and on special teams.

Re: Ryan Clark

I just heard straight from Cerato's mouth that there is a standing offer on the table for Ryan Clark. I don't know what the numbers are, but it sounds like the Skins want him back.
