We still have the core of Clinton Portis, Mark Brunell, Randy Thomas, Sean Taylor, Shawn Springs, Marcus Washington, John Jansen, Chris Samuels, Griffin...I mean most of the starters are returning. Of course we have chemistry. It takes chemistry to run the table to close the season and get into the playoffs. Why won't they show us some love? I remember at the start of last season Theismann predicted we'd goto the Super Bowl, and everyone literally laughed at him. Had Brunell been healthy, we would have the Redskins their due props.
Well put. Plus if you have time, do this. Go to Redskins.com and look at the roster. Now scroll down the NFL Experience catagory. The Redskins are full of players with 4-6 years of experience. Thats the physical prime of most players in the league. On top of that the Redskins have like only 3-4 guys with 10 or more years of experience. My point is that the Redskins have fused a group of elite players in their prime, key young role players, and savy veterans. As far as I know, no one has caused rifts in the locker room. Hell even Sean Taylor who can't stay out of trouble still has the love of his teamates. If that isn't chemistry I don't know what is.

True. That's a good point. On ESPN, they also mentioned our cap problems and how we were bailed out by the collective bargaining agreement. Of course, they don't want to mention that we were bailed out by leaders in the locker room who were willing to restructure for the sake of the team. That is another example of great chemistry and that they all really believe in what the Redskins are doing as a whole. So much sports journalism is just so negative. It's become just like regular journalism.

Re: Sportscenter about to talk about us

We're still getting the rep as the team that only builds through free agency, but let's be consistent; if you're gonna say that of the skins, at least point out the other teams that are spending big; seahawks, browns, cowpokes (talk about a big time offseason, they signed at least 5 starters plus v'jack), vikings, broncos, raiders.
The vikings made huge moves last year, including nabbing our beloved Smoot, then proceeded to fall apart, even trading a franchise qb for a 2nd rnd pick. Keep this up & maybe they'll rip them more.
At least mort was fair in his assessments, he noted that snyder is now signing guys in their prime even if he's spending big $.

What about Cromartie for FSU? What's happened with his stock?

One more thing, are there any defensive linemen expected to be worth taking at our spot in the second?

I think a strong argument could be made that a D-tackle or end might still be a need.

With Evans back in the fold, we won't be taking a DE in the 2nd. A DT is possible if the right guy falls. Both Evans and Wynn can play inside, and we still have Killings. If the right guy falls, we may take em.

Cromartie may fall into the 2nd, but not to us.

Re: Sportscenter about to talk about us

i'd wish we could get cromartie. With he talent level of the LBs, OGs, and possibly CBs falling to our pick, I doubt we'll go DT. By the time we pick, any DL prospect isn't going to be surefire and probably won't outplay any of the starters there (top 3 DTs, top 3 DEs, wynn counted twice). Maybe we try someone as a situational pass rush guy, but i kinda doubt it. We are setup to go best available right now though, esspecially if keith adams signs.

I believe that there will still be a quality LB availible in that part of the draft.

I think Danieal Manning is the one. And Kiper rules! If you can get a hold of him at his office he will talk to you.
