Watching Skins-rams Mnf In 1971

thanks to a fellow game trader i just got finished watching rams skins mnf from 1971,what a blast from the past!cosell, dandy don, gifford, johny mathis sang the natl anthem, george allen returns to face the team that just fired him, great stuff. The rams had merlin olsen, jack youngblood, phil olsen, which i think was merlins brother,{a fact i didnt know}roman gabriel was their qb,and they actually had 2 white guys as their receivers. They had a rb named willie ellison who i had never heard of,but the week before he set the nfl rushing record of 247 yds in a game. All the pregame talk was on jurgenson getting the start,{he had been injured most of the yr],but kilmer started and had a great game, threw a bomb to roy jefferson and Clifton McNeil,{charley taylor must have been injured that yr}we had richie pettibon and jack pardee on def!! The rams punted on 3rd down at the end of the 1st qtr so they would be kicking with the wind, you never see that,we got up 31-10 but rams get it to 31-24 in the 4th before speedy duncan{the kick returner, who i didnt even know played defense]intercepted a gabriel pass and returned it about 40 yrds for the td to make the final score 38-24.one thing i thought was funny was some of the commercials, one commercial had a young edward hermann{an actor whos been in over 90 films]doing a commercial for panasonic quadrasonic stereo,it was some good stuff

Was it decent enough quality to watch? I saw that on eBay and was thinking about getting it.

That is ancient. That game must have been taped by Bob Crane.

That game got the Redskins their first playoff berth in over two decades and knocked the Rams out. Wish I had been alive to see it

Actually we had a tape machine back then. It was reel-to-reel and the tape was at least 1-1/2 inches wide. It did a great job though. I believe it was made by Sony. I probably made a tape of that game, but where that tape is now I have no idea.

when did they post it? the 10 minute rule was implemented like last week or something like that

Besides, we don't need to be getting htownskins in trouble for posting an NFL game
