Re: Backup QB scenarios

i wonder whats really going on at redskin park. I think this decision is based in part on a compromise. I think saunders wants collins to be the backup but lets face it hes not a quality qb and campbell just isnt quite ready yet. I think given a little more preparation campbell can lead this team to the promised land but honestly lets all hope, pray and cross our fingers that all of this talk is in vain and the Mark Brunnell will stay healthy this entire season cause lets face it i think we will go a lot further with Mark running the offense. I think this whole season hinges on two things mark staying healthy and portis coming back and being the rb we are all used to seeing without those two i think our season will be a wash.

Re: Backup QB scenarios

I think Gibbs is trying to avoid having to insert JC in a game cold. There definitely less pressure when you ease into a game than having to come in and have defenses show you looks you've never seen or haven't particularly prepared for during the week.

I'm pretty sure if there is any issue with Collins performance this whole arrangement goes down the shiiter. Collins won't be better if he is turning the ball over.

Re: Backup QB scenarios

One must remember that it is Saunders, not Gibbs, running the offense, and probably had some clout in getting this arrangement made. Which is fine by me. Veteran guy who knows the offense for temporary situations, rookie gunslinger when able to prepare.
