Who is Curry Burns?
Sounds like a spice going up in smoke!
Seriously, who is he, and what has he done?

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
Was on our practice squad last year and stuck around training camp this year until final cuts. He knows the system. That's about all he probably brings to the table at this point.

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
Curry Burns.
Yes it does. If you ever go to an Indian restaurant (Nawab is awesome), they let you choose between mild, medium, hot and INDIAN HOT. I wouldn't suggest the last. In fact, MEDIUM is hotter than most people can take. That's what I usually get. |

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
The day after eating indian food I often times get Curry Burns, when dropping the kids off at the pool.

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
I want to see him lay a Sean Taylor like hit on bledsoe just so I can hear Madden yell something stupid like, "Man, that Curry Burns!"

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
So long as we don't hear him say "Curry just got burned"
Good pickup, he'll spice up the defense.

Re: Who is Curry Burns?
Curry plays safety and wears number 29. He is the half brother of Elvis Dumervil who plays for the Denver Broncos.
FROM: The War Room: Curry Burns, SS Curry Burns Position: Strong Safety Drafted: Round 7, #217 Overall Height: 6’0” Weight: 213 College: Louisville Birthdate: February 12, 1981 NFL Comparison: Kenoy Kennedy Strengths: Curry Burns is a linebacker playing in a safety’s body. Like a heat-seeking missile, Burns takes the proper angles and torches the man holding the football. He can jump and tackle, and he is capable of playing the run at a high level. Burns was a productive, three-year starter for the Cardinals, making up one half of a potent safety duo in Louisville playing alongside Anthony Floyd. Usually found among a game’s leading tacklers, Burns was recognized for his play in the 2001 Liberty Bowl in which he notched 12 of them and along with an interception. Areas of Concern: Burns can play a tight end in coverage, but otherwise he’ll need some help in that area. He is not someone that plays the ball because of his intense focus on eliminating the guy holding onto the ball. His speed and range are merely adequate in coverage, so he probably won’t be asked to cover too many slot receivers or play in any deep zones. Burns is also someone who may be a victim of his own aggressive play. He hasn’t really suffered any significant injuries, but he is someone who always seems to have a nick or two to play through. 2003 Expectations: Burns should provide an immediate impact on special teams. He has good 4.5 speed and can find a ballcarrier, so he’s someone that can make some noise as a gunner. Because of his leaping ability and nose for the football, Burns can be looked upon to block a kick or punt from up the middle. Don’t expect too much from Burns on an every-down basis. The Texans are comfortable going with Eric Brown as their starting strong safety, and last year’s fifth round pick, Ramon Walker, is still in the mix. While Burns may find a way onto the field in the dime, he’ll make a name for himself on special teams. |
