Re: Sacrifice the Season
I think you guys should start Brunnell unless you were to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this season. But next year Campbell absolutely has to start.

As I said before. New system, new players on offense, good time to make a transition at QB. I'd rather have a slight drop off this year so Campbell can learn under Gibbs and Saunders until they both go elsewhere in the near future. And by elsewhere I don't necessarily mean coaching wise. Just away from the 'skins.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
Same can be said about our defense, but you say nothing about sitting them on the bench.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
Our defense has bailed us out of countless games since Williams came aboard. I'm not happy with our defense. Our secondary situation sucks, and our Dline didn't get any pressure. That said, we KNEW that coming in but still didn't try to score many points.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
Brunell needs to not just go out there and not lose the the game. Aside from the first dallas game last year, how many games has he actually changed the out-come and won it for us? I'm still waiting...... Hey Brunell, I've been one of the guys on your side. Now that you have some offensive weapons, how about you use them! And you Adam Archulata, you do know how to play defense right? We cannot lose this game. Hell, we might have to run the table from here on out. And you Al Saunders how about some inovation and execution with positive results. Thank you, and I will be praying for this team.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
if hall makes that kick, and the skins win in overtime, is any of this an issue? brunell did not play that bad. our defense couldnt stop old man johnson on third downs. if our defense plays anywhere near the level of the last 2 years we win that game 16-10

Re: Sacrifice the Season
let me clear up my previous thread. i was very excited when we got brunell and im not a brunell basher, he is just not helping us win. instead of throwing the ball away on 2nd and 10 several times run up for 4 yards or so. hes got happy feet. honestly im not crying for campbell or collins to come in. i have not seen campbell in a real game situation and collins is garbage. another rookie in next years draft is NOT the answer, a young veteran with some playing time would be acceptable for next year, but brunell does give us the best chance to win now.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
campbell will in all likelyhood (based on history) make more mistakes and cost the skins more game than brunell. yeah he sucked in tampa, but we wouldn't be there unless he lit it up against NY and dallas, among others. and he wasn't the reason we lost to tampa the first time or SD or denver (though he, of course, could have done more).

Re: Sacrifice the Season
Hey didnt we win a playoff game last year with brunnell....didnt we win our last 5 and make the playoffs last year with mark brunnell. Our best chance is with brunnell. There is no ifs and or buts about it. Absorbing a 700 page playbook has got to be a bit much. Mark is the man for the job.

Re: Sacrifice the Season
No, I would not be okay with a losing season just to let Campbell play.
Campbell is suppose to be learning the system each day he is a Redskin. I trust the coaching staff has a better grasp of his developmental process than outsiders looking in possess. Campbell has shown some promise, but he is far from ready to lead this team. Perhaps he never will be able to lead this team. |
