This is exactly what I have been saying about how Betts impressive performance the past few weeks is GOOD for us, and it doesn't mean we trade CP, for God's sake.

Thing is, I can totally see Portis playing a Reggie Bush-type role and Ladell playing a Deuce-type role next season, to GREAT success. And we've finally got a QB who can throw far enough to make that happen...

You know Madden, he has to blow somebody! It's his fuel source.

Tough day for the on-air QB knob-slobbing brigade... Brady got spanked, and Romo's getting housed, but I guess since Favruh won a meaningless game at the Niners and didn't throw a single pickle (come on Walt!) they've all been busy servicing Brett...

Nice to see The Freak back in uniform for the Niners, and making an impact, too.

Another Nice dropped pass T.O.! After the season, somebody has got to put together a highlight real of Owen's dropped balls this year.

Re: Saints-Cowgirls game

Really makes the redskins look silly, doesn't it. Here we have 4 former headcoaches, and 3 former coordinators on our coaching staff, and in New Orleans, Sean Payton and his no name coaching staff have taken a bunch of largely no-name players to the playoffs in outstanding fashion.

Shows what a good QB can do. Brees is f....g unreal as a QB.

Re: Saints-Cowgirls game

I would say it shows what good team chemistry can do. A lot of those guys there in New Orleans have been there for a long time, and let's face it, the whole Katrina tragedy has had a big impact on this team. These guys are playing like a cohesive unit. That's more powerful than any high-powered free agent or coach.

Re: Saints-Cowgirls game

Completely agree about Brees. But it also helps when you have a competent GM in Mickey Loomis--hires Payton, signs Brees, gets lucky with Bush, finds Colston.

Also--what a masterful job in calling a game by Payton. Totally bamboozled Parcells...

If Mickey Loomis is your idea of competent GM, I'll stay with Gibbs thank you. I think this is a textbook case of a blind squirrel finding a nut. I think Payton was a desperation hire, and the man has done a brilliant job. It also helped that Miami made an obvious error in judgement in trading a 2nd for Culpepper when Brees wanted to be there, consequently forcing Brees to sign in New Orleans.

All that said, Payton has done a brilliant job building this team up from the ground in one season. Unfortunately, I don't expect any less from them next week as they attempt to lock up a bye.

Re: Saints-Cowgirls game

By the way, Colston seems like the consummate one-hit wonder guy. It's a great feel-good story, being a pick (or was it two) away from Mr. Irrelevant and then just going off, like in serious contention for R.O.Y. honors (if not for your own TEAMMATE, of all people), but...

Then he goes down with that sprain and it's like "oh, right, here's some guy named Devery Henderson, ding, 100+yds and a TD". The next game, Terrance Copper for 80 yards and a score, etc.

I seriously think Rod Gardner could put up 150 yards and a TD in that offense.
