AFC vs. NFC...

No I am not talking about the Pro-bowl. Me and my cousin were talking the other day about which conference is more dominate. Now both of us are fans of teams from the NFC EAST, me (Redskins) him (Cowboys). But either way, we both are NFC fans. I believe that the AFC is the more dominate conference. Every divisional winner in the AFC has atleast 11 wins. Where as the seahawks won there division with 8 wins.

However, his view is this, is the AFC really that much better or is the level of competion in the NFC that much higher? Which got me to thinking about the thread on here http://www.thewarpath.net/redskins-l...-division.html about the skins being a victom of a tough division.

So, I ask which conference is the more dominate conference? AFC or NFC?

other then the chargers , i hate the style the AFC plays. it seems like an awful lot of finesse going on. and i think the colts would have a helluva time playing some of the bruising defenses every week in the nfc

AFC has been winning the head to head matchups so they are better. It's just closer than most people think. The Bears are probably the best team in the NFL, of course with all due respect to the Ravens and Chargers who are right there with them.

AFC is better, no question. Head to head, smart money is on AFC in almost all matchups, year in, year out.

AFC without question. And don't lump the entire AFC with Indy as a finesse league. Baltimore, San Diego, Jacksonville, and Pittsburgh are just a few teams from the AFC that play a very physical brand of football.

I've always liked the NFC, obviously because of the Redskins, but as much as it pains me to say, the AFC is far more dominant. For starters, 7 of the last 10 Super Bowls have been won by AFC teams.

Take a look around this season: with the exception of New Orleans, every high-powered offense in the league is an AFC team. The only two NFC teams that I think are genuinely good and have a chance are New Orleans (great offense, though the 5-10 Redskins beat them) and Chicago, with it's brutal defense, though they have a lame duck at QB.

The AFC has Indianapolis, San Diego, Baltimore, New England, Denver and Cincinnati are always competitive and Tennessee has been on one hell of a hot streak recently.

I think the majority of the talent lies in the AFC right now, especially a majority of the consistently competitive teams like Indy, New England, Denver, etc. The NFC seems to have a lot of teams that come out of nowhere for a season and disappear just as quickly next season.
