Best Available Coaching Job?

Let's suppose Cowher resigns as Steelers coach (and everything I've heard says he will) which of the following availabe head coaching jobs would you say is the most desirable-considering management and talent primarily-Cardinals, Falcons, Dolphins, or Steelers?

Cardinals - You have a top 10 RB, two above average receivers, and a promising young QB.

Steelers is most desirable by far. There is serious talent, Willie Parker, Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Joey Porter, Troy Palamalu, Ben Roethlisberger. Cowher isn't leaving because the team is in tumult, he's leaving it in really good shape. They finished the season on a hot streak, and are poised to make noise next season. Russ Grimm is still the offensive line coach. Dick LeBeau is still the D coordinator. In fact, Grimm could very easily be their next head coach - he'd slide into the smashmouth style very easily, and would fit with the team's existing personality seamlessly.

The Cardinals have no offensive line. The Falcons have pieces of the puzzle, but designing an effective game-plan for Vick is very difficult. You don't know what the heck the Dolphins are going to do at QB: is Harrington the answer or is Culpepper going to bounce back?

I see that, but Arizona has been cursed with multiple losing seasons. A funk that no coach has seemed to get them outta. I say its the Steelers. A team with an already solid defense and an offensive identity: pounding the ball.

Promising young QB is one of the worst things a coach can have. I'd MUCH rather have an accomplished veteran, or better yet, a young guy who has won a Super Bowl and who has the complete faith of his teammates.

Besides, Leinart will never do much unless he gets some protection.

I'd have to go with the Steeler's by far. Good managment and ownership, solid talent.

After that, it would be difficult for me to pick between Miami and Atlanta. Each has a committed owner and some good young talent but each has serious questions: MIA - (As was stated in an SI article) the defense is getting older by the minute and they still have the same QB dilemma as last year (a gimpy Daunte or a failed 1st rounder in Joey); ATL - Michael Vick (Mora Sr. was right) and WR's with hands made of stone.

Arizona is where coaches go when they have given up on life.

Steelers then Falcons. Couldn't work for Wayne Huizenga, he seems to be too much of a pompous ass for my taste. And the Cards, God bless them, are some kind of terrible. No matter their record, they have virtually no fan base, and have too many holes to work on.

Now, with all of the jobs out there... is it possible that The Joker takes one of those and Gibbs takes the offense over again ? If someone brought it up, sorry, but I was thinking about that while in here working.

Steelers are the best team to fall into, but the Cards would be attractive. The firepower is there and they have the cap room to shore up a line and add a couple of Defensive players. I'd make sure they don't skimp on the coordinators and probably take that job. Plus, I'd rather live in AZ than Pitt anyday...

Cardinals:
Surely you must be joking? There are players here, but its impossible to look past the history here. This is an NFL graveyard for coaches.

Falcons:
Vick is a coach killer. He's a glorified Kordell Stewart. The only one who should consider this job is the guy who was fired from the Cowboys before Parcells, since he got more out of Kordell than anyone. He should team up with the ex-Saints guy and do that thing going on in San Francisco with the two ex-Redskin coordinators.

Dolphins:
Good owner but no organization in place. Aging defense. Some talent on offense, but much of it is very flawed. Brutally tough division.

Steelers:
Expectations are sky high but if you succeed, you have the most stable coaching job in the NFL. Good organization. Talent is solid. Very tough division, although Baltimore could recede after this year to age.

Clearly, you'd choose between the Dolphins and Steelers. Which one is better depends on who you are, I think.

Cards for young talent, Steelers for the organization.

The steelers is easily the best job for all the reasons schneed said. That coach will be inheriting a team only 1 season removed from winning a super bowl will almost all of the key elements of that title intact. Also the steelers are without a doubt the most stabil organization in the NFL. They hire a coach and stick with him. Remember a few years ago when Cowher's team was down and most wanted him fired, the steelers stuck with him and good things happened. Imagine if the Skins did that (I'm not sure anyone has that vivid an imagination).
