Russ Grimm new Dolphin HC?

His name is being tossed around on the Miami stations this morning as be ing high on the short list. I would love to get him back in D.C. Although, we really don't have place for him.

I hope he makes it one more year without a job so he can take over this ship after next season

I think we could make him the assistant-associate-head coach-offense; run-game division, since we have one for the passing game...

Oh lord... here we go again with Russ Grimm.

From now on, I will respond to all such "Russ Grimm should be our next coach" comments with one of my more brilliant posts that I wrote a few days ago...

If Joe Gibbs can't save this wreck of a franchise, how can Russ Grimm do it?

Russ Grimm if he takes any job it will more than likely be Pittsburg when Cower retires. If cower doesn't retire it may be an option, but I think the Dolphins are going to try and make a big splash with coaching (dont know who is out there) but they need to get that area excited about their football team again. and Hizinga has all ready said "what ever it takes, money is not an object when signing the next coach.

Well, they are naturally talking to Cowher as well. They would be willing to pay the $$$ that Pittsburg is not. South Beach or Steel City????? Hmmmmmm????

Grimm's 2nd in line in Pittsburgh. This is Wisenhunt's (sp?) team if Cowher leaves.

Fair enough, but I think people's thinking is that someone will have to replace Gibbs eventually, and there doesn't seem to be a more logical choice out there. And if we have another losing season next year, there's a good chance Gibbs will step down.

I certainly hope that, should Gibbs fail to turn things around, it doesn't mean that no one will ever again.

That's what I always thought too, but latest I've heard is the FO has changed its mind and wants to elevate Grimm to HC when Cowher (as expected) announces his retirement on Monday. Wise is a leading candidate in Atlanta as well. All that said though, the Steelers still have to go through the process of interviewing minority coaches.

What's your solution then? We fold the team?

Maybe Grimm would do a better job .I think Joe Gibbs is world class yet sometimes if you look and see what's gone on with the Skins maybe he should just be the Head coach and go hire a GM.IMHO Gibbs needs to take back your O thats all.

I've been kinda wondering if Saunders was a bad move. The old "too many chefs in the kitchen" problems really seems to have some legitimacy to it. Portis hinted that there are some serious issues amoungst the higher ranking coaches.

I think, since we have him, that letting Saunders take control over the offense is the better move. Regardless, it's gotta be one or the other, not the confusing mess that appears to have surfaced this season.

Last year we averaged 330 yards per game @ 5.1 yards per play.
This year we averaged 327 yards per game @ 5.4 yards per play.

The difference to me is that this year we did it with a rookie QB and a backup RB for half a season, along with a new OC and playbook.

No doubt our offense is headed in the right direction... but could Joe with the added new players have made our offense more successful? Would Saunders do a better job with complete autonomy?

Who knows.
