Fred Smoot can be a #1 cornerback. It's not like they were going against slack receivers, they're in a new scheme so still learning, and the CBs don't have any sort of weapons anymore. They have to just try to stick with the receiver. Every CB in the league lost a huge weapon. I'd like to see us put Springs and Smoot right on the line, jam their receivers the best we can and blitz like hell. If we have an LB spying the RB it may actually work. Even great receivers can only get so far in 2 seconds. Plus, QBs make bad throws under pressure.

a big problem with the play of the cbs last night was pointed out a couple times by the broadcast team and that was the fact that the skins cbs weren't putting any pressure on the speedy st.louis wrs at the line of scrimmage. u just can't let fast recievers get a clean run on astroturf.

smoot is better than Springs buddy. We were blitzing and not getting to the QB that's what should be concerning us. What if Lavar is hurt is this how the pressure will be?

Did anyone else think Smoot looked injured? He pulled up like he had turf toe on a couple of plays.

Yeah I saw him limping a little bit. I know alot of people were saying that he was getting burnt (which he was) but let's remember who he was covering. Torry Holt, arguably the fastest WR in the NFL.

If he continues to play the way he has, then I don't see why we should keep him. |
