OK, this is the "government conspiracy" coming out of me, but I feel that they already know of a cure, or are 1 step away but will never tell us cause the cancer industry is so profitable.

You never know man! But ya know, if that's true, how horrible is that? That money would be worth more than life!

I know...it's sick!
But money has been worth more than a life for many a century.

That would suck if he was out for a while...the 49ers run their offense around him.

Re: Bill Walsh died

One of the contributions Bill Walsh made was to hold yearly camps for minority coaches, to give them training as coaches and so forth, and help develop their careers. Many African American coaches came through Walsh's program.

Bill Walsh was a great coach and a better human being. May he RIP. If he isn't the best coach ever I don't know who is.

Re: Bill Walsh died

What I find to be amazing is how many current coaches in the league have roots that go back to Bill Walsh. Almost half of the coaches in the NFL have roots back to him.

Mike Holmgren - SEA
Andy Reid - PHI
Brad Childress - MIN
John Fox - CAR
Mike McCarthy - GB
Jon Gruden - TB
Mike Shanahan - DEN
Gary Kubiak - HOU
Jeff Fisher - TEN
Brian Billick - BAL
Jack Del Rio - JAX
Scott Linehan - STL
Tony Dungy - IND
Lovie Smith - CHI
Mike Tomlin - PIT
Rod Marinelli - DET

And that doesn't count the other coaches under the Bill Walsh coaching tree that held Head Coach positions at some point in the NFL. Bill Walsh's coaching tree produced 28 head coaches, with 16 of them currently coaching in the NFL. Also, his coaching tree produced 8 super bowl championship teams, not to mention the 3 super bowl championship teams that he coached. I have to admit that I am truely amazed how much of an influence this man has had in the NFL. Maybe someday there will be a "Bill Walsh Trophy"...

That's an impressive list.

Re: Bill Walsh died

Walsh, perhaps more than any other coach in recent memory, has had an incredibly significant and long lasting impact on the game of football. He's really going to be missed.

Re: Bill Walsh died

This guy was truely a class act back in the day. When we played them when he was the coach, I was always a nervous wreck. Him and Joe G. and yes Mr. Landry, made the NFC a force to be feared. He got to impact alot of lives in a special way. R.I.P. Mr. Walsh.
