Re: Its time for joe to step down.

First off, call off the Cowher talk. Ain't gonna happen. He will come back into the NFL after 2-3 years off, not one. And when he does he will command 6 million a year for his 1 SB win and numerous underachieving teams.
The penalties are absolutely reprehensible. Calling a TO to avoid a delay of game penalty so you can kick a 23 yd FG is dumb. Wasting a TO instead of challenging the call is dumb. Not having 3 plays ready for the next play depending on the outcome of what happens is stupid.
I know it's tradition to call for the coaches heads when teams lose. How's the firing of Marty treating the Bolts this year? Coughlin haters are a little quieter now. That being said, there are maybe 10 coaches I'd rather have than Gibbs (but Belechick is in NE, Jimmy Johnson doesnt want to coach anymore and two of them are dead).
And as for the GW bashing, the two TD's in the 4th quarter that mattered (screen pass and deep pass) had the right play called. WR made a great play behind the back while PP was in correct position. And Westbrook has made better guys look foolish. And don't forget, Andy Reid is considered a "genius" too.
If we miss the playoffs this year, scream for his head and wear paper bags.

Not to mention, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" our three TD's came in the air, why wouldn't we trust the pass? Besides, our offense was looking dangerous in the air in that set, Campbell was completing pass after pass. We just gave Philly a win, brought them back into the mix, and after next week, both of us will be .500.

Good thing about Gibbs is he will leave himself. Don't need to call for his head.
exactly!gibbs has given the redskins a better chance of winning these last 4 years than
any other or all of the skins coaches before his return!

Joe Gibbs is now a gutless coach trying to pick up a few Ws to make his second tenure with the redskins look more like a success than a failure, unfortunately for us he cant coach inside the redzone.

What game are you watching today I saw a resdskins offense that chould not put it in on the gold line also they went for it 4th & 13 on there own 20 late in the 4th Quter that cost us the game!!

So, instead of going for it on 4th down they should have... what? With no TO's left and 2:30 on the clock punting is the same as walking off the field.

Let Joe fulfill his contract, next year we draft and sign a free agent WR,DE,OG,DB and believe me this team will on scale with the elite teams. We are very close believe it or not, injuries have decimated this team on offense and defense. Next year Campbell will be more experienced and confident, it will be like night and day. Did you see what he did today? Multiply that X2, we will be healthier and more experienced, if you bring someone new you are going back to the drawing board and the new coach molds his new team. With the backups that are playing now, we will have more depth because of this.
Who are you going to bring in?

You can bring in Russ Grimm, or Bill Cowher or Norm chow. And the reason I say Norm Chow is because he ran an amazing offense at USC and has an uncanny ability to develop QBs.

What are you talking about. Norv Turner had better teams as a Redskins coach and made it to the playoffs just as many times as Gibbs has his second time around. Stop living off what Gibbs did in the 80s and early 90s, if this were any other coach his ass would be gone already and you know it.

Norm Chow is another Norv Turner. Great OC but don't think he'll ever be a great HC. Grimm would only HC here if Joe steps down but remains President.

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I'm starting to doubt Gibbs as well. JC was killing them with the pass all day, and then we get 7 consecutive plays inside the redzone and he chooses to run the ball? I'm sorry but if it isn't broke don't fix it, the pass was working down the field, inside the red zone, and then he chooses to run the ball in the redzone and kick the field goal.

At the end of the season, I would like Gibbs to go into the front office and take more part in scouting players. He has the right players in place, but for some reason it is not working. I would like Snyder to hire a coach with the same philosophies as Gibbs, but someone who is more emotional and less conservative.

The more injuries I see the more I think back to the offseason when Gibbs was like, ok players you can do your own thing at your own place, and have more time to yourself instead of having to come into camp every day. We've never had this many nagging injuries in the past, and it seems like one more significant player falls every game. ST's presence was sorely missed today when he left the game, and if we don't have him next week we are in for a long day. I'm not blaming (Pray-low) for the touchdown pass to Reggie Brown, he was playing that fine and McNabb just put the ball in a spot where only Reggie Brown could make a play on it. But there was some huge busted coverage on Westbrook's screen pass. It's amazing how all week we heard about how we need to focus on Westbrook in that offense, and then when the game rolls around he still kills us.

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong about all this, which there is a good chance I could be. But I've grown absolutely sick and tired of these second half collapses. After losses like these I'm glad I have this site to come to because I know i'm not the only fan out there who is devastated by the way we lose these games.

Please tell me you meant to include periods after "gold line" and "typo." Please also tell me that you meant to include a comma after "also."

Re: Its time for joe to step down.

The problem today was that we couldn't stop anyone after Taylor left the game. That, Godfrey's dropped int, and the officials two bailout illegal contact calls which both led to TDs, and the second of which was never shown on replay by Fox which leads me to believe it probably didn't happen were what made the diffference.

The idea that Joe Gibbs should step down as Head Coach is only equaled in absurdity by the notion that Bill Cowher is the answer. Cowher is at least as conservative as Gibbs is (with two fewer rings). The idea of having to look at his meatheaded face on the sideline, wrinkling up his nose sickens me.

Lastly, someone needs to tell Sellers to quit acting a fool and play football. He has no business going airborn. No business...

First of all, it's goal line, not gold line. Secondly, you're complaining about a non-issue if our defense hadn't committed penalties that sustained Eagles drives that went for scores. Our offense played its best game of the season today. Campbell had a huge day, and Clinton Portis went over 130 yards. The offense did everything they were supposed to to have put this game away early, but the defense kept letting them back in the ball game. The offense didn't cause those illegal contact fouls or the other penalties the defense committed. Therefore, saying Gibbs needs to go is illogical.
