Great Christmas Gifts: Redskin Win and Snow

Wouldn't everyone's Christmas celebration be that much sweeter if:

A) The Skins trounce the Vikes
B) Snow blankets the area Christmas day

Both are distinct possibilities. I am getting more excited by the hour as the latest weather information indicates most of the DC Metro would get significant amounts of snow if a storm verifies on Christmas day. I think the Skins winning will have much to do with the possible snowy outcome....!!!

Re: Great Christmas Gifts: Redskin Win and Snow

Where are you getting your weather info from?

Is it supposed to snow on 12/30 in DC when we play the cowgirls, which we will be traveling to see? Thats aweful far out to predict, they can barely get tomorrow right.

Today they called for 55 and sunny in Williamsburg. It ended up below 40 with 15- 20 knot winds and freezing rain/hail while we where golfing........GREAT DAY FOR GOLF.

Why do you think us winning or not will have that much to do with the weather?

But I'm darn sure ready to see us peel off TWO WINS!

I appreciate the doubtful honesty, skinsfan. I am a meteorology student in North Carolina. Just based off my own analysis and observations, coupled with those of older, wiser forecasters, I think there's a reasonably good chance of snow for Christmas. You're absolutely right; we still struggle with predictions a week ahead of time, and even in some cases 24 hours beforehand. But, some in the meteorological community (OK, consisting of my own hand-picked members) have a hunch this Christmas day storm will be a snowy force to contend with.

HAHA! Yes, I feel the stars will align with the Skins notching a W and the full moon appearing on Sunday, then the "Christmas Snow Storm of 2007." You apparently don't need Miss Cleo to figure this out.

Hmm, you are realing pushing the limits of predictability with the question about weather conditions for the Dallas game. I will be at FedEx as well, so let's hope for 70s and sun???

I hope it snows during the Dallas game. Let's see Romo throw in the snow.

Well Rock, I have lived here for 35 years and have only see a handful of white Christmases. Here's hoping you are right but I am not going to tell the kids just yet. My 3 year old however is already convinced we beat the Vikes handilly in Minnesota. So getting half of what you want from Santa ain't all bad.

A white Christmas would be nice, but beating the Vikes would be sweeter, especially if the Giants lose at Bufallo. If that happens, we would have a better chance than NY to grab a wildcard.

Re: Great Christmas Gifts: Redskin Win and Snow

So if the Giants and Skins both finish 9-7 we would get there spot?

Re: Great Christmas Gifts: Redskin Win and Snow

It can snow all it wants after 6am Xmas morning.

That is when my flight to Mexico takes off.

Land in Cancun at 1130 am

Only downside is will have to catch what I can of the Dallas game on Tivo or in airports coming home.

Sorry to go OT but as a budding meteorologist, you picked a great field to go into.. 50% success rate and a sense of humor and you're on a network within 5 years! :-)

Re: Great Christmas Gifts: Redskin Win and Snow

Nah, that's about as good an evaluation of my situation as any I've seen or heard!!!

Well, there won't be any messin' around with TV....I got a taste of that experience last summer with a local TV met and it's not for me. I think I'll stick to hiding behind the shadows of a government weather office and, from there, disseminating my half-successful forecasts!
