Pats and 91
Anyone notice the black 91 on the back of the Pats' helmets yesterday? Who were they honoring? Don't think I saw the number prior to today's game and I'm going to assume this wasn't a simple motivational stunt for the game. W/r to our 21, seeing his number during today's divisional came made me wonder again what could have been.

Naw, it's been there since day one. Nothing to do with Taylor. One of their guys passed during training camp in swimming accident.

Re: Pats and 91
The only one on the Pats team to wear both numbers is Wilfork who was good friends with Sean, and was teammates with him at the University of Miami. I thought it was classy of him to keep Sean's number on and wish the entire team had.

This is in honor of their fallen teammate, the late Marquise Hill who died last year in a jet skiing accident.

Re: Pats and 91
Were the Pats the only team that no longer had the 21 sticker on their helmets? I thought I saw it on every else's in the playoffs over the last 2 weeks.

Re: Pats and 91
There are a few threads on this already, but the gist is that (aside from the Bills' week, where everyone wore it) it is up to each team to decide whether to wear it. Players can also decide to wear it if the team is not.

Re: Pats and 91
Only a few Chargers wore it, including LT. The Colts didn't. I think I saw a few Jags with it on. I think it's pretty classy of both NYG and DAL to have the entire team still wearing #21. A nice gesture from our division. The entire Eagles team wore it until the end of the season as well.

Re: Pats and 91
Thanks, that's what I thought I had heard, but it seemed to me that all the teams were still wearing it...I just noticed that most of the Pats didn't have it anymore.

Re: Pats and 91
I think they only wore it the week that it is required. It's consistent with their philosophy - if you're one of us, you're OK, if not, then screw you. I don't begrudge them keeping #91 on their helmets (or not wearing #21). I'm just not surprised in the slightest.
