How old is that? With the salary cap being $78 million

I thought they went to the highest contract that would create the most room to get you under the cap and then began to void those deals. In which case a team would lose a few players and then become under the cap.

Wasn't there a Doomsday thread back before the last NFL Collective Bargaining agreement. We talked Lavar into giving back some money to become a free agent and this helped us prevent this scenario. I don't even know what to search for to find that thing.

At the rate the salary cap is growing. Probably last year. The year before that it was 40 million

before the cba they talked about taking all your draft picks from you. it hasn't really been tested though.

So basically according to this if the Skins stand pat Chris Cooley's contract would be the first voided with Andre Carter next in line?

The 49ers also got hit with loss of draft picks ( a 3rd and 5th) plus 1 mill in fines for breaking cap rules but it wasn't for the march 2 deadline. If I remember right it had something to deferred payment plans that didn't follow the rules. The NFL is supposed to approve all contracts so I don't know how exactly they slipped one though.
