I had a feeling that this might either happen or at least somebody would try to make a story about it.

I wouldnt have a problem with it but I'd have to say that we arent going to stop TC from following al saunders.

We should DEFINITELY do this. Collins will be worthless in a new system.

Collins wants a shot at a starting job, if that doesn't happen he's reportedly open to coming back as the #2 and he will let the Redskins match any offers he gets. To me that doesn't sound like a guy that's desperate to follow Saunders as some people say. He's a smart guy and his style of play would definitely be a good fit in the WCO.

Re: Gus F. and Todd C. Switch Sides?

It's fairly clear that Collins doesn't have a home here. Despite the stated desire to keep him in Washington, the Skins don't need to keep a system quarterback on a team that doesn't use his system. The only reason they say they want him around is so we won't be seen chasing out the QB that won four in a row for us to get the team into the playoffs.

As for bringing back Gus (Or Patrick Ramsey, or Trent Green, who was just medically cleared to play according to Jay Glazer), the same rule applies. Why bring in someone who has no experience with the style of offense Zorn plans on running?

I don't think we're going to make a run for Seneca Wallace (or -shudder- Charlie Frye). We will likely look for a player with some West Coast experience, though.

Frerrote was in Detroit with Zorn wasn't he? Regardless I don't think we should make a push for him.

Re: Gus F. and Todd C. Switch Sides?

The Rams are a dead end for Collins with Bulger there unless he wants to bank on his annual injury. He has a better chance of eventually getting the job here if JC flops this season.

Re: Gus F. and Todd C. Switch Sides?

I want Collins to come back. Zorn is going to keep part of Saunders system intact so for all of you "Todd Collins is a system QB" don't worry. I personally believe that with Zorns coaching and Collins style of play, that he'd be a good fit. Plus I like the fact that he has rapport with the recieivers.

Re: Gus F. and Todd C. Switch Sides?

In Gus we trust. But, seriously, I think he'd be willing to be the #3 and I like having a guy in that spot who is happy holding the clipboard. It's too early to start grooming a young qb in the #3 spot so why not a vet with no delusions of grandeur?
