Re: Apple opens Safari to Windows users
I'm a web designer working in OS X and Vista on a regular basis, so I move in and out of all the popular browsers on a regular basis. Unfortunately I have to test every site in every major browser, and that includes IE6 ::shudder::
Safari gets a big "meh" from me, along with a lot of stuff Apple does. Not horrible, but nothing special. Don't get me started on Apple fanboys... What onlydarksets said is right on - Firefox rules in terms of extensibility, and Firefox and Safari are pretty well tied when it comes to performance. The simple fact that Firebug only exists for Firefox is the clincher for me. No designer or developer can live without Firebug.

Re: Apple opens Safari to Windows users
When I do fresh installs of Firefox, this is the first add-on I get (this and the Web Developer toolbar).
