Positives week 6
Ok, so I missed a positives and we lose the week after. No I don't think I had anything to do with it but why chance it?
Five positives against the Rams: Clinton Portis: 6.1 ypc? He should be in the running for MVP and if the Skins finish over .750 he should win it. Carlos Rogers: Holt? Who's that? Johnny Unitas couldn't have completed passes to him the way Rogers was shutting him down. Cowboys lost: I root for two teams... Jason Campbell: Okay, so he lost a fumble because he didn't fall on a horrible snap. He also still hasn't thrown an interception and he's finding second and third options like Montana. With JC at the helm you just knew that he would lead a TD drive in the 4th quarter. Torrence covers on a deep 4 and we are praising JC's poise under pressure. Durant Brooks Quadriceps: Oh, so a promising rookie has a possible season ending injury when he's struggling? Cut him? No way. Stash him on IR and let his phenomenally strong leg learn the NFL game for a year. Why couldn't have pulled a hammie in August?

Re: Positives week 6
While on one level I agree with the positives you listed..yesterday's game left such a bad taste in my mouth that the only positive I can really focus on from that game is that I firmly believe that "wasn't" the real Skins and that they will correct everything by next Sunday. I still have faith. I've always had "hope" and yes, it took a long time to get my faith back, but it will take more than one game to lose it again.

On Extremeskins there are some folks ripping Carlos Rogers. Yeah, the guy who shut down Holt, T.O., etc., over consecutive weeks. As a positive I would add that we dominated the stats. I know that the score is the only relevant stat in the end. But still, it is not like we bombed. There were little, correctable errors in several places and some bizarre bad luck, that's all. The boys played hard, if without focus at crucial times. |

It was not our team and we will respond next this week. But we did not lose any ground cause both the Cowgirls and Midgets both lost. Tony Romo gone for a month and Eli is coming back to form.

After protecting the ball well all season, we had to have a game where things went badly. It's too bad that this kind of implosion didn't happen during a week in which the Rams were playing inspired football -- it would have been nice to have turnovers and yet still win, which we could easily have done if any number of things had happened differently (better pressure on Bulger, miss of a 49 yard FG, Avery doesn't make a Tyree-esque catch, etc.). |

Re: Positives week 6
I am pretty sure JC is still looking at him first though, so teams can't not cover him. If Randle El keeps holding onto those 2nd and 3rd down completions the teams will have to respect the middle, then Santana will make up lost time.

Moss has been blanketed with double teams. The comment above about ARE is spot on. Also, this is why we need Devin Thomas to step up (and Kelly perhaps to actually be on the field as a start). If ARE and Thomas start running wild, Moss will have more opportunities. |
