Updated: Singletary Replaces Nolan as 49ers Head Coach
the espn reporter made this statement today on espn's nfl live today.the 49ers have a bye after next weeks game,and he says that coach mike nolan will be fired,and mike singletary who coaches the 49ers defense will be interum coach the rest of the season.not really shocking cause the 49ers stink!

The Niners suck and this may be true.
It seems a little difficult to believe right now, though. You either fire a coach or you don't. You don't announce that you will fire your coach "next week," even if you are thinking that. If everyone knows he is a lame duck then the whole squad will tank this week. The fact that this all comes from an unnamed "source" makes it especially fishy. |

Mort from espn just broke the news that the 49ers fired mike nolan an hour ago,and they are negotiating with singeltary to become the new coach.

Another rebuilding year for the 49ers. Owners aren't waiting till the end of the year to hire coaches this year. I think Wade in Dallas is next if he doesn't get things turned around.

Nolan really caught a tough break. they just dont have any playmakers, and him banking his career on Alex Smith was just terrible.
