Re: Dockery coming back to Redskins

I'm glad to get Dock back, But I belive Kendall had a solid year, Although younger is better. Maybe if Pete stays he can fight it out with Thomas at RG or share. Also I think Heyer did a good job in different positions along the line especially when Samuels went out. Might be a best to draft a center if theres one that's worth it.

lot of respect for guys like that

it's gotta be hard to pass up more money, though we're probably only looking at a bit more money that they offered

didn't know he'd still be worth potentially over 5 a year, but I like the signing

Theres no way Kendall is coming back, so don't get your hopes up. Heyer is a solid backup RT in this league, but thats it, meaning at 13 we should take Andre Smith if available but if not we trade down and draft an OLB (Mayban, Cushing).

I'm telling you, they get this guy and it could be a huge improvement on the OL. Forget Andre Smith, this guy has all the tangibles, mature, smart and very talented. He's a can't miss pick. Whoever gets him will be very glad they did.

It appears that way, the kid seems to stay in the play, all play, every play. That can make a huge difference if there's a fumble or something else goes screwy.

Think about this scenario our line from RG (Mack can play G or C) to LT would be inpenetrable, Mack can replace Thomas or Rabach.

I still haven't seen him listed as a 1st round pick anywhere. Strikes me as sort of a tweener, probably early 2nd round and we're just not going to be there... although maybe he falls deep into the 2nd round and we've already traded down so it could work out.

... the only center i've seen in the first is Max Unger (i think). Maybe Duke Robinson or is he a G?

While unlikely, I think there has to be some possibility that he would take less money to be a backup. I thought I read that he would like to stay here. He is definitely wearing down. Maybe he would prefer to finish up here with a reduced role as opposed to picking up and moving again for a bigger deal and full time workload. Plus the skins were fine giving him a day off every week to rest his knee. Would other teams let a free agent do that?

He's a C and they fall into the 2nd round, T are viewed more valuable and fall into the 1st round. Mack is one guy I would make an exemption for.

Re: Dockery coming back to Redskins

Great deal. This is the kind of deal we should have been offering to Hall, ideally.

Dockery plugs up the uncertainty on the left side now. Draft is weak at Guard, so this was pretty critical.

Have to add a Center and a Tackle in the draft now. We can wait like three weeks and still find a cost effective option at Center. The market is flooded at C this year, both in the draft and in free agency.

I've seen Mack being taken at 20 by Detroit and 32 by Pittsburgh. It's all speculation right now. Ryan Leaf was projected pretty high and how did that work out? If you're going to build your team from the inside out, you don't get anymore inside than center. I have no connection to Mack as I'm sure SFREDSKIN doesn't. But IMO the guy is definitely a cut above and there are very few questions about his ability if any. He would make our line better THIS YEAR IMO. A lot of us were ready to throw money at Jason Brown. Well he's gone. Mack is cheaper and will be better than Brown IMO. He's been compared to Matt Birk. If we do take him and he does'nt start right away I'm sure SFREDSKIN and I will take alot of flack but this guy has all-pro written all over him if you ask me.
