Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.

Funny last night I was talking to a buddy of mine who is an Eagles fan and had just said I can't believe no one has picked up Springs. The very minute I got that out of my mouth he pointed up at the TV for me to see Springs making an INT. with the caption "Springs to the Pats".

With our luck, I'll bet he plays all 16 games. Although I'm convinced Darth Hoody has some sort of secret formula that helps old players contribute and become somewhat relevant (see Junior Seau).

He's great when he's healthy, which isn't often enough. Pair that with his unwillingness to take a paycut, and it's bye bye.
No, your right, he's been injury prone more than recently. I was just making the point (from memory) the SS played hurt alot too. Since he was always injured...From memory, he played hurt down the stretch of that playoff run in 2007.

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.

guys, Springs was a great corner when not injured; he shut down Owen's last year against Romo's Girls'. Spring's is still very good, and being on the Pat's he will probably play some Safety.
i wish the best.

I'm surprised the Eagles didn't try to sign Springs to replace Dawkins (which is a tall order).
And actually, I'm surprised the Eagles let Dawkins go. They let Vincent and Taylor go when they got older (34 or so) but Dawkins has always been solid and is arguably the heart and soul of the Eagles so the move is strange. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see the guy go.

Actually they did try to sign Springs to play safety. Probably free safety though. He was signed to play corner for NE and probably felt he had a better chance to get to a Super Bowl with the Pats. Replacing Dawkins is not going to be easy. He brought 100% when he played. I'll give him that.

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.

I always liked Springs...he was one of the best defensive players on our team.
You can't blame Springs for his body breaking down over time.
When he played...he was always rock solid...how many can you say that about?

I was really hoping we could have resigned him for cheaper...he is by far the biggest loss we've had...its a shame he was cut and was not a free agent...we missed out on compensory picks for him and Taylor because of that...one of the probs with how we structure our contract for oldies.

Anyways.....I was really scared when I heard he was considered for the Eagles.
That would have sucked...cause he is still good....I was really upset when he was thinking Dallas too...and due to his Dad playing there...that could have been a problem
Good thing the Pats got him...not suprised...they have a great front office.

We will all be missing springs 2 or 3 games into the season when Hall gets juked 4 times a game.
I did like Springs...he was solid...I am sad to see him go.

I think this is all Darth Hoody and his ability of recognizing talent, bringing out the best of old player, taking risks, and having a bit of luck (having all these old players without any big injuries). Although, the latter is yet to be seen, Springs could go in and have his usual injuries.

It definitely does... he has to work to be with a new team.. not to say he hasn't worked in years past, but he has more to prove

the pats are the type of team that would take him and it's probably one of the more likely places we figured he'd go

he was very professional about his departure

great wishes mr springs

It wouldn't surprise me to see him play 16 games. We all know what happens to players when they leave the Skins. It's like steroids - bigger, faster stronger.

Has anyone picked up Washington yet? Sorry I have been out of it, been in the middle of coaching soccer so have not had much time to get caught up on things.
