Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.
I hope anyone in his situation would be more about family than a job.

I wasn't a huge Springs fan the past couple of years, but that was only because of his lack of toughness-seemed like he'd only play when he was 100%- but it had nothing to do with his commitment to family issues. If anything I respected him more as a man for that.

I mean the family stuff shouldn't even be discussed... you're an utter dumb ass if you're mad at the guy for anything family related... I do agree, that he seemed very fickle the past couple years in terms of sitting out... I just look at other guys on the team and saw them play through injuries that I think Springs could have as well... I really have no idea the seriousness of the injuries... and some people are just plain tougher than others physically and a strained calf for one guy could be completely different than a strained calf for another guy.... I'll miss Springs.. I was a fan of the guy.. I think he was the spark that started our run to the playoffs in 2007, and when he was healthy we were much better on defense...he just was never really healthy. .

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.
I don't understand how Springs' family has anything to do w/ it. Wouldn't he have decided to play for Dallas if he wanted to be closer to his ailing father?
... just evaluating Springs the player I'm very glad he's gone, regardless of how he performs going forward. Other than the 2nd half of the '07 season Springs rarely impressed me. This year obviously there were the injuries (again) but even when healthy his play dropped. The way he jumped in front of Hall's easy interception, and then bobbled it, was just dumb. And then he got his ass utterly handed to him on the last series against SF when they drove down to kick the FG... as soon as that game was over I couldn't really believe Blache and the FO would keep him unless he took a big paycut... glad he didn't.

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.
I was hoping that he might get re-signed with a smaller contract. Can't blame him for going where the money is. I just wish it weren't the Patriots.

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.
Yes and no....He never showed up last year in OTA right? Or was it in off season work outs? Anyway have no proublem with the family thing but when you are getting the kind of money these guys are getting you need to go the extra mile!!!! Just like J.Taylor he was not ready to go when the perseason started that is why Vinny and Danny is having workout with the team in contracts now.

He's also got some child custody issues, and the kid is out this way.

Re: Springs Agrees With Patriots.
i really don't get all the love for Springs. yes, he was our best corner( when he played) too many nagging injuries for him to really contribute
