This is what I don't get...hasn't Vick pretty much missed two seasons worth of games?

I think he has missed enough and should be able to play now. I also think that this four game suspension theory has been intensionally leaked by Godell so he could gage public sentiment.

I agree...if he has been actively suspended indefinitely by the commisioner during his imprisonment his discipline started at that point...time served.

Also, this Vick hoopla will last until the game he's allowed back in and then doesn't get time due to inefficiency. It's foolish to think he'll be the same player he was pre-incarceration.

Let the guy play...he'll suck anyway, it won't matter.

Re: Vick can sign, may have to sit four games

If Goodell suspends Vick at this point, IMO, it will be because Mike Vick lied to him at the draft a few years ago and if that's the case, it's just being petty. Vick has been suspended for 2 years already! There's no reason to tack on another quarter of the season.

I don't believe that Roger Goodell will keep Stallworth out of for as long as Vick has been suspended, and that's flat out retarded. What Donte Stallworth did was probably 10 times worse than anything Michael Vick did.

I wouldn't even mind seeing Vick as the backup to Campbell this year, particularly because he's so hated that if Jason were playing mediocre, most Skins fans would still by him just so they didn't have to call Vick their QB. If the Campbell gets hurt, I would rather see Vick on the field than Todd Collins or Colt Brennan.

the guy did the crime, and then did his time. i really don't think more time off is warranted

Sucks that the Skins are mentioned in the same sentence with the Raiders when it comes to flashy free agent signings.
Funny that crap like this is still being discussed when the Redskins came out and said they weren't going to consider him weeks ago.

I think the 4 game suspension is stupid. What metric did Goodell use to determine 4 games was appropriate? Did he look at everything that's happened to Vick since his conviction and say, yeah, that's about right, but I think we should throw on 4 more weeks just because. Obviously, his jail sentence aside, a 4 week suspension is waaay too light for Vick's crimes. But he's been put through the wringer over the past 2 years. Why a 4 game suspension at this point? Makes no sense to me.
If he gets a 4 game suspension, I think it is more for the blunt in your face lies to Goodell when this whole thing began for Vick. I don't think Goodell has forgotten those, nor just set them aside. I really have no problem with any decision Goodell makes, if he clears him with probationary period or if he suspends him for 1 year. Either way Vick will get a chance to go back to being in the NFL at ungodly wages. Not sure how many other convicted felons get that opportunity.

As many have stated, if he can come back, good for him, just not here on the Skins!

I don't think Vick will actually be suspended for the 4 games. I think if he keeps his nose clean during camp he will be good to go.

I agree. If he is suspended, it will in part be Goodell's way of 1) showing the public & league that he'll hold a higher standard than the courts, and 2) letting the season begin w/out the negative media attention. Would be much better for Goodell if the major story is Farve!

I don't think anyone is going to pick him up. I just don't see it. This time of year rosters are set. Outside of Oakland I don't see anyone who wants to put up with the drama. He's going to have to go to the new league and try and knock off the rust, then try something next year.

Someone will sign him before the trade deadline...just a hunch.

With camp injuries you never know who might roll the dice.

I'd be surprised if there isn't a handful of teams that have him on their radar.

Yeah wasn't there kind of a similar situation with Pac Man, where he had a conditional ban but once the season started it was lifted?

The Rams deny it, but I think they may make a run at him. But I think the team most likely to will be the Jaguars. What he probably should do is spend a year in the UFL, recharge his batteries as a football player and then try to make the NFL again in 2010.

Maybe the 4 weeks was for Vick lying to him when this all went down. I don't blame Vick for lying because at that time he had not been charged with any crime.
