We would have been better off drafting O-line depth with those three 2nd round picks.
Kelly has been being utilized, albeit not as often as Cooley or Moss. Thomas and Davis might as well be ghosts. Davis seems be only used on TE screens.

Well there were a lot of single plays that made a difference... but did we have the drives like we did vs the rams?

He fell head first into Flacco's back. They carted him off with an apparent next/back injury.

You can't be successfull going 3 wide if your offensive line doesn't give you enough time to go through your progressions.

I know that wasn't the case the entire game (on Talib's 3rd pick I think he had enough time and was probably just staring down Moss) but again all the mistakes he made are correctable.
were you watching the game?

he couldn't even notice if they were open because he wasn't progressing

Yeah your right lets correct that, why dont we wait until JC is in his 5th year as a pro to correct that.

I think a lot of the reason we haven't seen big games from Kelly is because he just hasn't been able to get open enough for JC to trust him. I don't know whether it's a lack of effort or just great corner play (maybe great corner play can be attributed to knowing what to expect from the coaching staff) but our 3 young guys from last year aren't getting many looks, and the looks they are getting they aren't doing anything with. JC has been targeting them (not very often) but even when he does they don't seperate, or make the play, or do anything that gives him more confidence to throw it to them.

Agreed. Still think he's locking in on receivers too much. He's playing hurt and shaken. He also looks like he's thinking too much as opposed to playing. This might be the growing pains, but...At least we won. Here's to Denver putting one on Dallas.

No I wasn't watching the game. Are you serious?

I'm clearly aware that he was staring down receivers but that wasn't the entire case. In case you failed to notice the offensive line wasn't exactly picking up Tampa Bay's d the entire game. Time for me to ask if you were watching the game? They were getting pressure on him.

It's not just JC. It's JC, the o-line, the wide receivers aren't getting open. Why do you think the backs and tight ends had so many receptions? When nothing's opening up that's where he goes with the ball.

Are you saying that you actually prefer long drives that end in FGs? I'll take a quick strike to Moss for a long TD any day. And the Cooley TD came at the end of a 10 play drive, which was as solid as any vs. the Rams, with the emphasis on FINISHING.
