Paige calls for Broncos to start Simms vs. Redskins

Now of course, consider the source but it's funny that this weekend, Jason Campbell's not the only QB who is feeling the heat from outside.. Paige: Give Chris Simms the start at QB vs. Redskins - The Denver Post

I was looking at their respective stats yesterday and for all of the mess JC has dealt with and the relative lack of mess Orton has had to endure, they are very similar in many areas. Both completing more than 60% of their passes, both with 9 TD, both with ratings in the mid 80's. Campbell has more passing yards and a higher YPA and Orton has fewer interceptions. Kinda makes you wonder how Campbell would do with an NFL caliber offensive line, a productive running game and an effective WR group..

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Nice to see other teams have their share of wacko fans/media.

Paige is an idiot.

It would certainly help him to hide his many deficiencies as an NFL quarterback. Campbell needs to go bye-bye.

Other than Campbell or the FO not wanting it, I don't see why we couldn't keep him as a back up. Unless Collins sticks around, but he's getting up there in age.

I think Campbell would have the same problems playing on any team...a great O-line and powerhouse offense won't help his fundamental problems. He'll just be like Trent Dilfer.

Orton is simply terrible and McDaniels knows it. That's why he only calls two yard passes and tries let the wr's make the yardage. He doesn't trust Orton to throw it more than 5 yards. Still can't believe they let Cutler walk. Simms might not be any better but he can at least push it downfield. Even though he's a punk I almost feel bad for Marshall cause he a freakin animal. If you put him on NE or Indy he'd just go off.

so he loses two games to arguably the best two d's in the nfl and he needs to be benched, but sure put simms in, and bench marshall and royal, and sit out bailey and dawkins as well

What is the man-love for Cutler. How many interceptions does this punk have to throw for people to realize he is not that good. Kyle Orton, who is an average quarterback, has done just as well with the same weapons Cutler had. Cutler is overrated. Lovie Smith needs to be slapped for falling into the Jay Cutler trap. The Bears need to get back to Bear football and run the ball and stop throwing the ball 50 times with Cutler getting picked off 5 times.

He completely fabricated that conversation with the "large cheese" at the Denver Post I'd be willing to bet

Denver has a nice wr corps - Marshall, Royal, stokely. Their o line is their problem I believe, just like us, but their wr's are far better & they have a talented young rb.

Not sure if Denver's line is banged up but otherwise that group has been very good. Before last year's draft Denver spent it's highest picks acquiring oline talent.

Right now, they're starting Russ Hochstein and Tyler Polumbus, which is like being forced to start Stephon Heyer and Will Montgomery.

Oh, wait.

Compared to last year, they've struggled a lot, but the receivers have helped with the protection by developing. Last year, Cutler never got touched because he had the best OL in the league combined with a great release.

I don't think Orton is going to throw for 4,500 yards. Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal's production is not going to come close to what it was last year. I think losing Cutler has a little something to do with that.
