Who's better

Ryan Clark, or Matt Bowen. Clark during the season layed the wood on deep recievers and had decent coverage skills (3rd on team in tackels) , whille bowen can't cover a damn thing and knows how to blitz and run stop who would u start and why? :confused-

I dont think that either is anything to write home about. I seem to remember Ryan Clark getting burned alot in the year. I say Bowen if I am forced to. Just because with our defensive scheme, more times than not, one of our safeties is up to help with the run or to apply pressure to the QB. And Sean is definitely fast enough to play centerfield all by himself if he has to on probable run plays, and blitz packages.

As hard as it is to say, I'll have to go with Bowen. This is the most difficult thing I have ever had to admit. It's a sad-sad day in history.

I say next year we put our best ass kicker in their for blitzing and run support. I think our other safety might be able to handle the outfield all by himself. What's that guy's name again.... oh yeah Taylor he's pretty decent from what I remember.

Clark is the better all-around safety in my opinion. Bowen shined in week 1 coming on blitzes, but he still seems to be a liability in coverage. I wish we got to see more of Bowen this year to see how he would have progressed, but then again we wouldn't have had the chance to see Clark as much.

Don't forget about Lott either.

I think Sean Taylor should try out for the Nationals

Matty:

I agree. I like Lott the best of the three.

Forced to choose between Clark and Bowen, I would take Clark by a narrow margin because as people here have said, Bowen can't cover a snowman.

if bowen wasn't asked to cover someone one on one i would rather have him in the game. he is better on blitzes and he's another hard hitter to go with taylor and arrington.

We can blitz ST from the safety spot so I say Clark. For the money and the coverage. Plus I am still pissed Bown cost us a draft pick!!! Like others have said, I also like Lott better then both of them.

I think Lott is the best over all...
I love Bowen though. He looks like a damn serial killer with his shaved head and hits like he's actually trying to damage the guy. Can't have enough big hitters on our team...that was one of our biggest assets this year. After about the 4th or 5th week teams realized that even if they came in and were able to score some points the Skins would hit the crap out of them and make em pay for it. I'll never forget Pinkston pulling a "Sally wants his mommy!!" in that second eagles game. Never ever.

We could get another SS to compete with what we have. Drafting one on the later rounds might work.

Are you kidding. We need ST playing outfield, picking passes and putting guys out for a couple games with bruised ribs. Blitz our non-covering safeties and make the QB decide between attempting to throw downfield with Willie freaking Mays making plays out there or holding onto the ball as the safety rips his nuts off.

Change of subject. When do we finally get to demote Bugel to just O-line Coach. And get a real offensive coordinator in here.

You don't blitz the safety every play. He has the speed to get back into coverage if he comes up to the line to scare some people. Watch highlights of the Bears game.....they blitz him already, he had his first sack and FF in that game on a blitz.

I am with Matty on this one, Clark put more hit's on guy's in the secondary than Bowen has since he joined the team Clark is far better in coverage, Bowen had some nice sack's before he was hurt but that is all he's really good for and I feel we could get someone with more size and speed to do that, I feel we should draft a player maybe an undersized LB or an oversized corner and work him in back there William's will make him into a better saftey than either one of Clark or Bowen. But defiently Clark over Bowen but both will see significant time if all thing's remain the same.
