All it takes is one...he'll find someone willing to hand the money out.

Re: Has Smoot Missed His Payday?

The market is falling. If you do not sign in the 1st wave history shows the price you are looking for is dropped. So the Skins are still in it, I hope.

Smoot is just embarrassing himself right now. He somehow has it in his head that he's a top five cb in the league and should be paid like one. I'll laugh at any team that gives him a 15 million dollar signing bonus.

I'm sure his agent is telling him that, and it's always easy to believe what you want to hear.

Re: Has Smoot Missed His Payday?

John Clayton said on the Mike & Mike show today that Smoot will most likely end up back w/ the Skins. I hope he's right. But I also heard that he's supposed to visit KC sometime this week. KC is also looking at Ty Law, so lets hope they go with him instead of Smoot.

Besides, Smoot in Kansas City? No way....he's a DC guy.

Re: Has Smoot Missed His Payday?

It's surprising that Rolle, even with his legal and health troubles, got signed ahead of Smoot. Smoot may have priced himself out of the market. With the new pass interference rules where you'll get flagged no matter what, maybe teams are thinking the days of the cover cb are dead, OR, that 15mil bonus is way too much for one.

Don't know...at one point they say our offer to Smoot will go down due the the Coles/Moss trade, but then we are interested in Burress, who won't come cheap. Just shows that nobody really knows....especially Yahoo sports.

Well, the deal the Giants are rumored to have offered Plax is less than we payed Patten. So it's not THAT outragious.

Re: Has Smoot Missed His Payday?

last i heard NY floated burress a 4mill$ bonus type deal that wasn't very impressive... we don't really want him though... he's just another 50/50.

One other thing to remember is that Smoot has been taking advice from C. Bailey. Does anyone else recall all the articles about how Champ was telling Smoot to be sure and get his value.

Regardless of what you think of his abilities, Bailey is definitely a "show me the money" guy. This is not intended to start a bash Champ thread, but if Champ is giving Smooty advice, I can see why Smoot is holding back.

But he hasn't accepted it yet, has he? Even if he does, I think the FO is content with our WR corps, at least until the draft.
