What a depressing pic check out the oil kicked up in the wake of the boat

That looks more like the water when running down the dismal swamp. Sad.

Everyone down here is moaning loudly. We're not even over Katrina yet and this spill is threatening our tourist $$$ and our natural beauty.

F&%k BP. And f&%k the government for allowing BP to circumvent safety regulations which might have prevented this disaster.

Re: Guard watches coast for oil slick's first wave

The good news is that as of an hour ago, the containment dome is only about 100 feet from the leaking pipe, and they think that by Sunday, they can begin collecting oil with the dome.

The Gov't says that cleanup after the dome becomes operational will be relatively straight forward. If it works by Sunday, it looks like much of the coast will be saved from the slick...

I have not heard but I'm guessing it did not work. Dam I cannot believe that Obama allowed BP to drill for oil there.

I just read something and yes the box became clogged by ice crystals. 5,000 feet down I guess the water is not very warm.

They haven't abandoned the box idea yet....they are trying a smaller dome with a larger opening up top, and they are also prepared to try what they call "Top Kill", which is pumping junk into the blown out pipe in hopes of clogging it up.

They are also going to try to run a big pipe directly from the blown out pipe up to the surface....

I also heard that they were all going to chew BigLeagueChew bubblegum and try to stick that over the spill.

And Johnson &Johnson has been commissioned to make a no-stick waterproof bandaid (rumored to be a Spongebob design) to cover the boo-boo.

Disney is checking into how Ariel defeated Ursula, to see if something could be learned from that.

Nickelodeon has definitely denied the rumor that Spongebob himself was being loaned out to BP.

Finally, John Travolta said even though he wants to help, he doesn't slick back his hair THAT much anymore. (he did acknowledge that if this happened in the late 70's he would have take all the oil they spilled)
