BUT : keep that fire with the coaching staff, the players, and bring that back out onto the field and compete harder and better than you have before. Pratice throwing the ball into trash cans if helps, study harder in the film room, work on your mechanics, work with the coaches and try and get better. DO NOT go to the media and act like a spoiled kid or an entitled player. The coaches in Arizona have spent the last 3 seasons grading and analyzing him in practice. They know what they are getting in Matt, if they were so thrilled with him and thought he was that IT guy to take over this team, they would have not brought in Derek Anderson. His comment on I want to be traded to a team and start now in the NFL, well this guy does not really get the professional game at all. There are 32 teams in the NFL with only a handful of QBs in this league. All 31 teams in the NFL have QBs on thier rosters who have been working for the past 9 months trying to perfect the schemes, working with thier WR, TE and RBs, and understanding there coaches. If you look at every team in the NFL right now they do know who will be starting QB for there team in week 1. If anyone can name a team where you know Matt Lienert would go in there and start right away, I would love to know who it is. The guy does not have it. He may one day, but I highly doubt it.

Re: Other teams cuts - and the obvious should we get them question.
Leinart is a huge spoiled child. Someone mentioned on an earlier post on this thread defending Leinart that he has been in this offense for three years. Well he has and his COACH picked the guy they recently got and is still getting comfortable in the system. That says it all.
Leinart and his fans are still living in the past, when he was on a loaded USC team that could have won it with out him. He needs to stop acting like a child and be a man. His play is what got him demoted, not his coach. He acts like he is being cheated. |

Re: Other teams cuts - and the obvious should we get them question.
Why do we need another WR? And Mitchell? Draft a WR in the next two drafts. And Patrick Ramsey? You guys gave me hell for even bringing up the idea of bringing Frerotte in as the #3 QB. At least Gus made the Pro Bowl once, and he was a 7th round draftee. Ramsey was the #3 QB in what was supposed to be the best crop of QBs coming out of college in awhile, and they all were busts. IF I am not mistake, didn't Gus play for Shanny also?

He is a Prima Dona for sure. Remember him and Bush hanging out with all that Hollywood glitter. Guy had tons of hot babes served on a platter, didin't have to do anything. He is MR Wonderful. Guy played on a loaded team in a crappy conference, which assured USC of at least 11 wins. |

Hopefully, there will be some good, serviceable OL cut. I would think our FO would still like to upgrade there. Anyone heard anything?

Maybe we should bring in Patrick Ramsey.

I think our FO did a good job of upgrading our OL. I re-watched the Jets game, and our 2nd string did a decent job against NYs first string DLine. If we are looking at anything, it will be WR's

He just wanted another reason to bring up Gus in his usual glowing manner.

I agree. Last year it was the weakest link (though wr and return teams are close) but know I think it's a strength. IMO we'd be much better with a healthy Mike Williams but Jamal Brown, Trent Williams, Artis Hicks, Selvish Capers and Lichtensteiger (sp?) all are all upgrades. As for wr, I think we have enough depth at wr but no playmakers.

So you guys feel like we're not running the ball all that well because of our RBs?

No, I feel that once the season starts, the running game will pick up considerably

As Rabach and Rex both said this team is focusing on and studying Dallas. So to answer your question, I think run blocking could have been better and would have if the game had counted but based on the level and quality of the last two opponents I am confident our OL won't be the same swinging gate it was last year. |

Agreed. By design I don't think the running game has been a big area of focus in these preseason games.

Re: Other teams cuts - and the obvious should we get them question.
Interesting and comforting.
The OL only looked good against the Bills, and I thought that success had to do more with it being against an inferior opponent. Aren't the coaches supposed to be taking a long look at DT tonight? I hope he rises to the occasion. |
