Here's the Scouts Inc. report on Michael Clayton...

2010 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.
Grade: 59 | Key

Comment: Clayton has struggled to live up to expectations. He is a big receiver with adequate downfield speed but average acceleration off the line. He builds to speed more than being immediate and struggles to sink his hips to get in and out of breaks with a burst in order to separate from defenders. He runs clean routes but they could be sharper and more explosive. He has a wide receiving radius that allows him to reach down and pluck the low one off the turf. He lacks premier elusiveness once he catches the ball and pretty much has to have a step on defenders to gain many yards after the reception. He is a better fit as a No. 3, or maybe a No. 2 receiver, than a No. 1. He has managed to stay healthy and play a full 16-game season only once in his previous six seasons.

What's the deal with him? He made the Pro-Bowl as a cornerback with the Bears, how did he drop off so fast?

Not a cut, but still a loss for Seattle:

Alex Gibbs has left the Seattle coaching staff. He's a longtime OL coach. Tough time to lose any coach. 2 minutes ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Injuries. I don't know if you recall but he a couple of years, back to back, where he missed a ton of games.

Actually I kinda don't. Were they potentially career threatening? What a fall he's had, he's not even been in the league more than 6 years I think.

Talks are heating up between STl and SD.. I guess we aren't going after Jackson. O well, Rams could actually compete in that piss poor division with VJ

Yeah, what's up with that. Looks like Pete doesn't have it all together up there. Bad way to start the season for Seattle..

Yeah, both were really bad. One year it was a groin injury and then 2007 it was just a combo of lingering shit from '06. You probably remember 2005 when he was a stud returning kicks and ints.

Also, cover 2 corners are the equivalent of running backs in Shanahan's system. Most of the time you can find replacements, while your former players go on to struggle in non-cover 2 systems.

Eagles trade Stacy Andrews to Seattle. I wonder if this has anything to do with Okung's injury. And are the Eagles that deep at OL?

Adam_Schefter

Seahawks traded a late-round 2011 draft pick to Philadelphia for OL Stacy Andrews.

Perhaps they'll get Stacy Andrews to coach the O-Line in Seattle then. He's got 7 years of experience.

Interesting. Both Andrews brothers gone. Two or three years ago, it looked like both could be perenial pro-bowlers.

Re: Other teams cuts - and the obvious should we get them question.

From Nfl.com

Andrews, whom the Eagles gave a $4.1 million signing bonus in the spring, became expendable after the team traded for Arizona Cardinals guard Reggie Wells on Friday. Wells, a sixth-round draft pick in 2003, started 90 games in seven years with the Cardinals, including 64 in a row since late in the 2005 season.

I missed where they had picked up a guard.
