Re: Victory Monday
you all were talking about Orakpo?
Here is his take: ESPNRadio980 ESPN 980 by Redskins On @ESPNRadio980 Brian Orakpo said "the team can have victory Monday when they clinch the division" 6 minutes ago I have never seen anything but passion and pride from this guy. So glad the Bills went with Maybin |

156 TDs and 114 INTs with 60 fumbles in 7 years is not good. 58% career passer. He gets elevated because of his last name and the big media market he plays in. His stats are comparable to Boomer Esiason at this point. Both have a similar 57-58% completion rate and their TD:INT ratio is identical (I did the math). Both are locks for 15-20 INTs a year but Boomer never had 25 like Eli did last year, even on the Bengals, Jets or Cardinals. No one would call Boomer a top QB. Good, yes...not great. Eli gets hyped like he's one of the top in the league. Eli Manning NFL & AFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com Boomer Esiason NFL & AFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com

Re: Victory Monday
I am no Eli lover by any stretch of the imagination. The run into the Superbowl was a good footnote to his career.
I also want to confirm I would never use great and Top QB to describe Eli. Just pointing that out is all. Anyways, back to the thread topic. VICTORY MONKEY! Great way to start the season, great attitude from the players even if MS was not going to give the guys a day off. Love hearing all this stuff. Rak will get his this year. The D is going to be better evry week. Who knows where we end up at the end of it all, but we do have hope and currently are in the lead of the NFC East, albeit week one.

Re: Victory Monday
That game winning drive and Super Bowl trophy carry a lot of weight. Im sure his last name has something to do with his persona as well. Im just saying bashing this guy is a waste of my time. Ive never been scared of a Giants team because of Eli and he doesnt just get under my skin like Romo and his hide and seek escapades. To me its like pickning a fight with a child, or bitching at a 90 year old man for forgetting something i mean you got to go out of your way looking for stuff. But he does always have the same look on his face, there it is thats it, i got him. But thats just my humble opinion.

Re: Victory Monday
Cooley or Davis I choose Both!
It’s a rare thing in this league to have two tight ends who have the talent to be perennial probowlers. On one corner you have Fred Davis, pretty much a tall widereciever who lacks the needed blocking skills, on the other corner you have Chris Cooley, fan favorite, tough SOB, and all around well-rounded tightend. What I have recently noticed from the Redskins fan base is a tug of war between whose better. You have the one side claiming the budding star Fred Davis, claiming they love his speed and his hands. The enemy of them are the Cooley fans, holding dear to our beloved #47 who still has the work ethic and the skill to make several more probowls. Well I have decided to be the Ghandi in this, ladies and gentlemen, I want peace, Why can’t we love both tight ends? Why can’t we give Rex “Unleash the Dragon” Grossman the matchup hell which is two strongly skilled tightends. No answer to that folks? Because I am right, With Fred Davis and Cooley combined the Redskins receive an advantage over other teams in this league, one of the few advantages we can actually lay claim to. We have two guys who honestly can have 80-100 yards and multiple touchdowns every game. Fred Davis proved that Sunday receiving 5 receptions for 105 yards. Chris Cooley showed his continued value with solid blocks and 2 catches for 21 yards. Both offer versatility and represent a very valuable chunk of the Redskins Shanny offense. Why should we lose that? Why have trade Cooley threads? Or trade Davis threads? I’m telling you right now, we would have to receive an empire in return for either player, not the 3rd round pick fans were clamoring for, that’s no empire, that’s a colony. Fred Davis is in a key season, his contract season. Davis has been on record many times claiming he wants to be a featured tight end, Davis is a featured tight end in our system with improved stats across the board ahead. The front office is in an easy situation to me, re-sign the guy, keep the best tight end tandem in the NFL in Washington. Heres to Cooley and Davis crossing up the Cardinals defense this week, and heres to them crossing up defenses for years to come. HTTR See more at redskinsrave.com

Re: Victory Monday
As far as your point goe RedskinsRave. You are right on, take a look at New England for example. They have Hernandez and Gronkowski. Both very good, and both very useful in their own right. If we are running 2 and 3 TE sets why not have two very good ones and one newcomer?

Re: Victory Monday
Yes especially on short yardage like 2nd and minus 5. Options are unlimited!

Re: Victory Monday
I, too, think it's funny that pundits and Giants fans are still whining about missing Osi and Tuck, while completely dismissing how we shut down their downfield passing game and didn't let Jacobs get on a roll.
It's like they forget the other team is paid to play football, until they lose to the Redskins then it's this guy was hurt or that guy was hurt. |

Re: Victory Monday
Nice Stat Scud...
Giantone... If you are here to talk about how bad we have been in the past.. well keep dwelling on that one. We are here for the present, not what happened the last seven years. To be quite honest there may be another QB starting next year. Who knows... you guys lost to a team that played better, a QB who out performed yours, a defense who dominated you in the second half, and and offense who has had the same starting QB for four games with no OTAs. We won you lost. You should drop it. Eli is who he is. We all know it. He caught lightening in a bottle back in 07. He is not terrible and he is not great.
