Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status

But the bottom line is: there is about $20 million cap dollars (setting aside what it will cost to get Griffin signed) to spend on improving the team, and the Redskins have the ability to raise that number by up to $15 million through cuts, extensions, and restructures.

well, i assume beck and sellers are gone, and i might eat brown's contract too to free up the spot. If we can get a #1 CB, it's nice to know that we can pay for him by ditching hall.

it's OT, but while hall may be our best CB, he's still not very good in that role. (and i'd assume he's the #1 since they seem to give josh wilson the #2 WR assignments from what i could tell last year). the thing is, wilson is a fine #2 and less hot headed, and paying 3 CBs starter's money is wasteful.

The actual number is $31.1 million. So I'm going to adjust accordingly.

Uncapped year could be coming back to haunt some teams | ProFootballTalk

I know I am going to sound biased in here, but the league could have easily avoided this by renewing the CBA earlier on. I think this is stupid for the league to do for any team.

Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter

Re: Redskins 2012 Salary Cap Status

as i understood it, the whole purpose of the uncapped year was to allow teams to do just that.. this is ridiculous. any idea how bad the skins are going to be hit?

And i wonder how the NFLPA feels about this... all it does is create less money for teams to spend on players this year.
