The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Well I made a new thread since the last thread was based on season 3 and season 4 just started Sunday.
Spoilers: So it looks like the sickness is... waterborne now?

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
I don't think it's in the water, I think the dead pig has something to do with it, and perhaps Daryl passed it to that kid when he licked his fingers before shaking his hand.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
So animals are contaminated now?
And how would his licking his fingers pass it to the kid? (I know you probably don't know and they'll answer it in up coming episodes. But I'm just speculating out loud). If the sickness is triggered at death, then at this point it'd be.. saliva-borne? Food borne? The previews for future episodes look like the jail goes into full scale walker takeover mode, so I'm assuming some of the people in jail turn. And what was up with Rick burying his gun?

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Yeah I can see the virus jumping to animals and mutating somehow.
I think Rick's gun was symbolic of him trying to put some of his recent past behind him. He's tired of all the killing and violence. |

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Rick didn't bury the gun, he found one that seemed to be randomly buried. But I agree that he seems to want to avoid all the violence around him now, which is why he doesn't want to bring his gun on food runs.
There were a ton of special effects this week, but did anyone else think they looked kind of shitty? When the zombies were falling through the ceiling it looked like one of those terrible SyFy channel movies; I don't know why, but I found that kind of distracting.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Yes i think that's a good point. Remember there was the sick boar in the woods that died right before Rick met the irish-sounding lady that had whatever it was in the bag "eddy"...
But i'm pretty sure in the comics animals 100% cannot get infected so maybe this is the show's take on things...

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Couldn't it be just a regular kind of disease is spreading? Like swine flu? Everyone is already infected with the zombie virus so once they die the turn anyways.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
Yeah, that was sort of my guess. The world of TWD seems extra dirty and all the seemingly "normal" diseases that are are otherwise easily remedied are going unchecked.

Re: The Walking Dead (Season 4)
He's back.
About time, the whole flu thing and fighting off the walkers at the gate was starting to get a little tired to me. |

And what's up with that little girl? Didn't Carol make it a whole point to teach her walkers weren't people and to be on the defensive? And what does this little turd do? Assume that because the walker didn't bite Glenn it might be able to be controlled. Ugh, when is she going to be killed off? The Governor needs a new zombie daughter to give all his unrequited love.
