Diehard I hear ya but see above minus Bountygate and the same goes for Grimm. Never even been a coordinator and you're ready to put him in charge of the franchise?? You think there's something there that 32 organizations repeatedly have missed?
He only went for one job that was Pittsburgh. We will see what happen in the next couple of weeks. Everyone gets fired in the NFL, that means nothing to me.

IMO your idea of having C.H.U.D. as an OC is a good one. He did well with Cam Newton; you'd think that he would be great with Griff.

Ok.... Fair enough... I want him as our DC, and I have heard he would be willing to serve in that capacity.... I want either David Shaw or Jay Gruden as our HC... But this list is so underwhelming, I would rather take Williams... At least I know the defense will be good...

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

Jay Gruden:
- was OC under HC Jim Haslett for the Florida Tuskers of the UFL
- when Haslett came to DC, Gruden became HC of the Tuskers. The Tuskers had Joe Theismann as an owner.
- the Tuskers then moved to become the Virginia Destroyers, whose GM was Doug Williams.

Are these omens that Jay Gruden is destined for D.C.?

The lie detector determined that is a lie.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

As a G Williams apologist:

He's easily, far and away the most accomplished/successful defensive coach of all potential coaching candidates. He produces top defenses without tons of talent. Apart from Sean and London he didn't have elite talent in DC. Same with the saints. As a comparison that Mcdermitt fellow has more talent on his defense than Williams ever had, probably by a long way, and Carolina isn't any better on D than anything Williams put together.

His HC experience was much like Belichick's first HC gig. Lousy team/franchise. But that experience is valuable.

He's been all the way through the playoffs and won a SB. His defense won that SB as much as the saints offense. Again, great experience.

He's a bad motherfucker. The bounty thing is a lame ass excuse. They've reportedly gone on for ages. And you know Williams will do everything above board from now on.

But the bottom line is he's a leader. His players respect him and actually show it on the field by busting their asses.

The problem with bringing him on as DC only is he's likely to overshadow the HC IMO. Based on experience, leadership and the way players respond.

Paintrain- I will continue to pound my fist for Russ Grimm until he is eliminated from contention by Bruce Allen like Bill Cowher was today.
Wait...in the year he didn't have one of the top 3 QBs ever he lost 14 games. What about his record shows he was any good?

The part where he built his team around one player, then when that player couldn't play he didn't have any backup plan and it ended up costing him his job. I'm not very high on Caldwell either.

What coach would have done any better with no Manning that year? The Colts were totally built around him.

I blame that colt season on bill polian more than Caldwell. I still don't want Caldwell, I don't see anything inspiring about him

True but maybe they don't go 2-14 if they didn't have a guy like Curtis Painter as their backup. Every team should have a solid backup quarterback, the entire game revolves around them. They were exposed without Manning, and I don't like that. Imagine if he built this team around RG3 and then RG3 goes down, and an entire season is wasted. Not saying Kirk Cousins is as bad as Curtis Painter, but I'm not a fan of building a team around one player.
