Re: Fixing the Secondary
Minnefield is a good player that hasn't been fully healthy. That's why they over paid him to be on the development squad last year. He has good instincts although not as big as I'd like but, is good in run support and coverage.
If he can't make the roster this year then cut him but, given the opportunity I think he can be a good one. There are players that need to get on the field, Shanahan had his favorites, that's the only reason J Wilson was playing, in my opinion. |

I see a Byrd, Mitchell combination in the Redskins future.

Byrd is not making it out of Buffalo.

Re: Fixing the Secondary
I will try and find the link but the Bills have been trying to sign Byrd to a long term contract to no avail. They also are NOT going to use the tag on him. I guess we will find out the truth in about 24 hrs. Rich Tandler had the link in a tweet

Re: Fixing the Secondary
byrd is not going to be worth the price he will command. Get a journeyman stopgap at CB, try to find a decent cheap veteran to teach our two young safeties, and play should improve over last year. Don't need to pay a kings ransom for one DB when there are so many needs and questions on this team.

No link but I understood Byrd to be turning down top 2 money, if we do that then let Rak walk that would annoy me more.

Re: Fixing the Secondary
I don't see bringing in Byrd as a great idea for the skins. To many resources tied up in a guy who may or may not be a good fit here.

I thought Chase was healthy for the 2013 season... ...reportedly he was inactive because of a reluctance to play special teams, no surprise someone who did 7 BP reps at the combine would get hurt |

Re: Fixing the Secondary
Just saw on NFL Network at Byrd is unlikely to get tagged rolling across the bottom.
