Ahhh, perhaps your implying that a houseplant would give Russell a run for his money in the IQ department? Didn't we trade up to pick this guy? or was that Bauman? |

Russell will be a camp cut, no doubt.

"Houseplant" mightbe too harsh a comparison to make. I was trying to be polite and that comparison would offend houseplants everywhere... |

Now that we lost Jarrell Weaver to the Jets... ...
We should keep Cliff Russell around and develop him into special team playmaker.
How about developing him into a special team – punt_blocker / FG_blocker _? __________ Now that we lost Jarrell Weaver to the Jets... ... I am praying that our wise FO can sign this – ( Unri Thomas -- WR Bethune Cookman College ). --- Awesome speed as a special team playmaker. * |

heh...I wonder what Russel got on the ever so imporotant wonderlic test... He definitly doent seem to fit in our plans as a receiver. He may still be here as a special team guy. Last year Patrick Johnson was very impressive as a special teamer because of how fast he got down the field, mabye Cliff could take that spot.

Sounds promising, coming out of college...
9. Cliff Russell, Utah, 5-11 3/8, 185, 2: Has big-time speed (under 4.3 in the 40). Some teams think the rest of his skills are pedestrian. Will be picked on potential but could develop into a team’s No. 1. “He has good ball skills and he makes the great catch,” said a receivers coach for an NFC team. “He’s just a little lean. I don’t know what people would be worried about with him.” |

Russel will be gone, and those undrafted free agents are wasting their time. We are loaded with WRs that have NFl experience.

"Washington wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. said it appears the 6-foot, 185-pound Russell's conversion from back to receiver is complete. "Cliff is an extremely good player. He is better than I thought he would be," Spurrier Jr. said. "He's very intelligent. We knew he could run and catch the ball, but he is an intelligent guy, too. Cliff is learning the offense well, he knows how to get open and I see him being a valuable player in the offense this year."

Hell, he might be right, but this kid is going to have to make his own opportunities to stick in the NFL.
I see him in Oakland or St Louis. Both those organizations are speed hungry. |

i think Russell is definitely gone..especially since a guy like Gibbs will see what Spurrier didn't..."U Can't use a reciever if he can't at least catch"...the speed is "off the hook", he is hella fast, but i don't he'll have enough qualities for Gibbs.. I look for Cloman to take that spot fairly quickly..
Oh, and about the cornerback transition......Never... CB's really need to be able to use their hands.( am i right? ) |
