We're sorry, Bills fans. This would be brutal. Bills in-name GM Doug Whaley was reported to be leading the search for a new head coach, but it's now been revealed new owner Terry Pegula is conducting interviews. The Bills have requested interviews with as many as 13 head-coaching candidates. The Shanahan duo wouldn't be awful in a head coach-offensive coordinator tandem, but allowing them to make all personnel decisions would be taking a huge leap of faith.

per rotoworld....this would be insane.
Seriously. Mike Shanahan's personnel decision-making here was a disaster, and Pat Bowlen in Denver ultimately fired him for that same reason. Why would Buffalo expect that to suddenly change? I really, really doubt this happens.

Its not a conflict of interest if no business dealings are present or none appear in the future while he is still in office.
To quote the article that Matty posted: "The problem for Christie comes from Jones’ business relationship with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which is controlled by Christie and New York governor Andrew Cuomo. Jones partially owns Legends Hospitality, which will operate the soon-to-be-opened observatory at the new One World Trade Center. It’s a deal that is expected to generate $875 million in revenue over 15 years.

Obviously, the appropriate people are denying that Christie had any influence over the situation. Regardless of any actual impropriety, there’s a clear appearance of potential impropriety."

So, yes, I think there is the potential that this crossed the line. And separately of whether there was an ethical violation or an actual crime, politicians accepting lavish gifts (and so publicly flaunting them no less) is just bad -- it undermines whatever confidence peopkle have in their public servants. Anyone with integrity -- much less someone hoping to be President someday -- ought to know better and err on the side of caution. I like that Christie is so plain spoken -- more politicians ought to be. But he's also an arrogant jerk, and his Cowboy fandom.

Separately, I just got an ESPN notifier that Scott M. is oiur new GM!!

If thats true about Jerry's dealing with the Port Authority, then I agree, thats starting to look less like a gift and more like a bribe (or reward after the fact which can still be construed as a bribe imo). I really have no problem with him being in Jerry's box, but when Jerry is picking up the tab for travel and all that stuff, that definitely looks bad. Christie should have paid for everything himself to avoid the whole gift/bribe thing since Jerry has dealings with at least some factions of the NJ Govt.

Re: All things off season 2015.

He's an elite player though and with Kerrigan that would be scary.

Hell no. We suck, one d lineman is not going go fix our defense. We need to build through the draft, find an identity and win some games. Once that happens then we can think about poaching potential free agents, as of now I want nothing to do with any free agency "splashes".

Yeah, let's revert back to doing things the old same shitty way we've done the past decade.
