And hopefully he does a better job at developing our young players.

Re: Right Tackle and Free Safety
Can't fix the entire team in one year. Hopefully these positions are addressed in the draft and undrafted free agents.

Re: Right Tackle and Free Safety
I would like Goldson from tampa hay!. Two year contract 6M. Draft Amos to study under him for two years then promote him to starter.

Has SM been a trader in the past, or has his drafts tended to be the picks he goes in with. I could see him being the kind of guy that knows the position each of his draft picks is at and him knowing exactly what/who he wants there. |

I would rather eat clam chowder directly off of a public bathroom floor than pay Dashon Goldson 3 million dollars a year.

looks like he ran back too far, beyond where the OL was supposed to set on that play. there was a pocket there, he was just 10 feet behind it. |

Who knows if the play was designed to be a 3 step drop out of shotgun. i dont. I do know it must be frustrating to be a tackle, you block for a 3-5 step drop perfectly but your QB decided to take a 10 step drop, fans blame you for the sack anyway. i imagine every D coord just tells his edge rushers to go wide and up the field 10 yards, dont worry the QB will be there. - it looks like a busted screen play Last edited by over the mountain; 03-22-2015 at 09:57 PM. |

Re: Right Tackle and Free Safety
he actually took a 5 step drop out of shotgun, i'm pretty sure that's not normal.
to be fair, compton got completely manhandled too. it is what it is i guess. |

Yes but tackle is a really, really bad place to have a hole. Especially on a team that is trying to find out who their future QB is.

Re: Right Tackle and Free Safety
I noticed a whole lot of nearly immediate interior pressure last year as well. Hard to blame the QB when they are getting hit as soon as they look up. We need more than just a RT.

Re: Right Tackle and Free Safety
We have basically been the laughing stock of the NFL for the last 20 years. People are blaming RG3 for that like the rest of the team was great watch the film he's not the only one to blame. I can wait a little longer give this guy a line then we can talk. This is my opinion and you ain't changing it.

The line can get better. It is average to below average. It isn't terrible. I believe the biggest improvement the line has to make as a unit is power blocking on short yardage. We were pure crap this year picking up 1st downs on the ground. Hopefully as we get bigger, this will improve. Almost every talking head who played for the skins, from Colt Brennan to Cooley, to Brian Mitchell preaches that sacks are 50/50 on the line and the QB. In fairness, Brunell is the outlier. It isn't QB or line, it is QB and line. SM didn't think it was the unit in the most dire situation based on where he has spent money so far. If the line is god awful, how do you explain Kirk Cousin's incredibly low sack rate compared to RG3 and Colt? |

I've done that. It's not as great as it sounds.
