Omar isn't for everyone. A large percentage of Dolphins fans do not care for him. He doesn't have a filter. He just speaks his mind.

I think every fan is optimistic going into the first game of the season.

Some possible misconceptions:

Miami actually runs the ball pretty well. Lamar Miller had 1100 yards at 5.1 per carry last year and he looks even stronger this season.

Our O-line was pretty bad last year. Brandon Albert was out and players played out of position all season. He is a pro bowl player that is back. Mike Pouncey at C is also a pro bowl player. James at RT has been solid. The weak point is a rookie at RG. Fans do not expect quite the mess we had last season.

Miami is stacked at WR. They had to keep 6 WRs so no one got poached. Devante Parker is a big kid with a huge catch radius and is expected to be a red zone threat. Stills is a speedster. Jarvis Landry is one of the top slot guys in the league. Mathews is very solid. Jennings can still run excellent routes. Cameron is a pro bowl TE who is great if he is healthy (concussion issues). Dion Sims is an excellent blocker.

Tannehill is going into his second year with this offense. He looks a lot more comfortable. In preseason he posted a 121 QB rating with 0 interceptions completing over 80% of his passes.

The starting Defense allowed 3 points in all of preseason. Wake lined up next to Suh and it wasn't pretty. It looked like they were up against high school players.

Our biggest weakness is at LB where we have inexperience. The safeties and CBs are talented. Depth is a concern all across the team. If we lose a player or two at certain positions, the season is over for us.

I can't speak intelligently about your team. All I can go by is the preseason games I watched on Game Pass.
I hope you guys enjoy the season.
Hello Huck. Thanks for the insightful post.

Greetings Huck!
Omar is not for everyone? Let me help with that. If the small int I heard is any indication, calling him egotistical, self serving and unrealistic would be...charitable (not to mention possessing extremely poor manners).
BUT back to the Fins. I think they will be improved and possibly a contender in division. The juggernaut he described....hardly.
The Skins secondary is still suspect and may still prove an achilles for the team. The O line is a work in progress, but at times....good. Who knows what we will get in QB play...could be anywhere.
All starters are back, and if they play to expectation, the Fins will get a game if not a loss. If not, well....
Good luck to you...but not to much!

Thank you all for the warm welcome. There is absolutely nothing wrong with fans picking their team to win. Thats what makes us all fans.

This is what i want to see. We cant really control the fact that Suh and Wake will over power our OL. What we can control is play calling to limit their effectiveness.

Very excited for sunday.

Just going off what I remember from last year and this preseason, he does seem to show better with Cousins at QB.

True but just ugggh. Im so sick of just wanting to be halfway decent and look like an NFL team. Lol. Im gonna take a sip of this fresh ass kool aid ....and....wait for it....31-17 Skins....ahhhh.
We come out on fire unlike anything we have seen for a while and build a 21-3 halftime lead only to see the Dolphins storm back to 24-17with 6 minutes left in the game. Than Captain Kirk leads us down the field and we ice it 31-17!

If Gruden goes into halftime again and comes out with no adjustments, it will be very telling for the rest of the season.

His situational awareness could use improvement too.

The last minute in the 1st half at SF last year comes to mind.

And if they hadn't laid an egg against the Pats in the AFC title game, they would have beaten them twice.

We don't have rookies at either position of kicker or punter.

I was speaking of the Dolphins. I have no idea what you are talking about or your obsession with below average candy.
