It didn't work out as expected, but I liked it. I liked the fact that they were up 14 and tried to go for the throat. If they complete a couple of those passes and drive down the field and go up 21, there's no "debacle" and they may run away with it...I hope we see more of that actually.

Re: Skins-Vikings post game

I think we can finally put to bed the idea that JB can't make second half adjustments. Without looking back, this is at least the third, maybe fourth game this season that the D has pretty much shut down the opponent in the second half.

Now if the offense would score a higher percentage of TDs in the red zone, I might have some nails left...

Great win! HTTR !

1) Great job O-line, Bill Callahan is J*sus MOTHERFUCKING Chri%t!

2) Fat Rob is tough as hell, we can become a really good balanced offense! How many yards did Kelley got after initial contact ?!

3) Our D let us down in the 2nd quarter... But played an outstanding game otherwise. I feel like they've developed the ability to deliver at crucial moments (4th down and inches stop, sacks, key turnovers etc...). I know people say we cannot count on turnovers and big defensive plays and we have to be able to consistently stop the run... But they really seem to consistently be able to make key plays when needed even in games where they aren't being consistent.

4) Only real negative for me still is redzone offense... Again, we could have killed this game early.

Garzon had a hell of a great game. That guy was making catches all over the field.

Well that approach has not worked this year. The other game escapes me right now but we did the exact samething (big first quarter, terrible second quarter). As an offense, you have to see adjustments...the Vikings adjusted after the first 2 drives. Also, Im not advocating for joe gibbs conservative, but you go up 2 scores...you start grinding and controlling that line of scrimmage and keep that defense on the sideline. Because when you start aggressively throwing...man, the turnover probability goes way up and you stop the clock. Folks I like Cousins...he is not Aaron Rogers, tom Brady, etc.

The Vikings did the predictable...they went hurry up and more aggressive playcalling. So the defense feels more pressure, get worn out, and gives up scores.

That second quarter was a momentum killer and effective allowed the Vikings to win the first half of that game.

Fat Rob showed his worth in the second half...and first quarter. Don't get away from running the ball, we are a much much better team and offense.

Per Profootball Focus yesterday:

"Kelley added seven missed tackles and 73 yards after contact"

basically he needs more work...73 yard after contact has to be close to the top this week for a RB

He did a good job. Better run blocking would be nice so he could rip off bigger chunks.

I feel like we forget about that fumble... That was also a killer in the first half. It's not all on the D. They only gave up 2 drives.

That Minnesota front seven is easily top 10 in the league. Joseph, Floyd and Griffen are all legit probowl type players. I think our line and rb did great...we needed to pound in the second quarter and in the red zone.

Its all about momentum and sometimes when you feel pressure and over exert you can make a mistake. I think this stuff plays into fumble play.

i thought we played GB next week? Maybe their pass defense is suspect, by after week 10 (minus tonight's game) they are still 5th in rushing defense. Game plan will include more passing this time i thing. Source (ESPN)

I think we need to get Fat Rob going early and often. The 2nd quarter scoring run that the Vikings had, started when for some reason we threw the ball 3 times and went 3 and out. I don't know why we did that, given the Kelley was running well.

Remember against Cinci we went to him the first play after Dalton fumbled at the 50, we had the ball with one minute to go. They threw to Garcon on the slant where they flagged him for the phantom push off on Pacman Jones. It would have taken the Skins within field goal range.

Yesterday while 23-20 we're driving with 3 minutes left, trying to get into FG range, and we hit Garcon a couple times on that drive.

You can tell the coaching staff and Cousins treat him as the clutch, big-moment, we-have-to-get-a-first-down receiver.

Looking more and more like it makes sense to let Jackson go and keep Pierre. I love the guy.
