Re: NFL week 9
With this much of a rebuild, higher draft picks are invaluable.
I don't think the Raiders are tanking, but I also don't think Gruden's crying too much at the losses. |

Re: NFL week 9
I doubt that there is anything Gunther could have done to prevent that fiasco. It's all about the message Jon Gruden has been sending to the players, which is: "I don't respect you and I don't care about you and your families." The players' response is "If you don't care about us, then we don't care about you either." The entire Raiders team just gave Jon Gruden the finger on national TV.

Here's a Q , If this Mullens kid lights it up the rest of the year, they have to keep GQ Jimmy. Would you consider trading for him? Not just the skins but I mean every team

Re: NFL week 9
He had a good game, has been decent in pre-season. it’s still a long season and Beathard will probably reclaim his position, but if he screws up, a quick hook. Rather address it through the draft.

Re: NFL week 9
Gruden was handed a good team when he won his SB. Other then that he is average at best. He has won 5 playoff games but 3 of those came when he won the SB. I like Grudens personality but he should have stuck to announcing.

Re: NFL week 9
He's only 8(?) games in so we'll see how he bounces back. Similar to draft picks I think you need a good 3 years or so before you can judge a coach. OUR Gruden for example came to a team depleted of talent and has since then turned it around. Let's see if his Big Bro can do the same.
However, I do like Jay more than Jon at this point. His offense (when clicking) seems more creative and effective, especially in the passing game. Again, we'll see what happens when Jon has "his" team put together. Side Note/Joke: If recent history is any indicator this Mullens kid only needs another 5 or 6 games like that to get a $100 Million contract out of John Lynch.

Re: NFL week 9
When you have a ten year contract you're going to be more willing to sacrifice the present for a better shot down the line. By giving him a ten year contract the Raiders have structured things in such a way that for the first time the coach doesnt have to worry about this year. So we'll see if this novel approach ends up paying off, or if it ends up blowing up in their face as he loses the locker room.

Re: NFL week 9
John Gruden is getting torched today. T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Colin C, Jason Whitlock, etc... are bashing him.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh is calling out John Gruden for lying. |
