Re: Lions postgame
Should be but QB isn't our issue. Wentz has been good and Sam Howell is legit. WE NEED DBS

Yeah, lot of other players "liked" it too. Hardly in keeping with the new culture to call out a young guy when the entire defence is garbage and the veteran captains need to be accountable along with the coaching staff. He wasn't the worst player on the pitch, just the most inexperienced, but they new that when they drafted him a little over a year ago, all on them |

Re: Lions postgame
I really didn't think Davis played bad on Sun. They did what they should be doing and that is blitzing him a lot more.
Also you don't rip your players to the media. That to me is a BIG no no. Ron saying openly "we're running out of time" about Davis is WRONG. All Ron had to say was "Jamin is working hard, he did some good things out there and there are some things we need to clean up." You simply don't say what Ron said. What if the players openly called you out for your stupid ass decision to go for two when there was no reason to? Last edited by skinsfan69; 09-20-2022 at 12:24 PM. |

Re: Lions postgame
RR Needs to include himself in that running out of time thing. We are getting worse in year 3 not better.

Re: Lions postgame
I thought RR was a Defensive mind... Well after 3 years of shit defense he's clearly not

Re: Lions postgame
I didn't see the entire presser. Right now it doesn't matter if you have Fred Warner at LB if the DBs are playing the way they are.

Re: Lions postgame
I agree that they have an individual responsibility to play hard no matter how good a speech the coach gives, but even at a pro level, it's still a team sport, and we've seen many times how a locker room sticking together and believing in each other or not makes a huge difference. It's not all about x's and o's, to me having guys play hard and buying into what they're being told to do is a big part of a coach's job. No matter the $ every one is getting paid.

Re: Lions postgame
Not a fan of Chris Russell but:
Here's the most interesting part of the #Commanders pitiful defense so far through two games... Last year, on third-down, they were 2nd worst (31st) in #NFL at 48.47% allowed. This year, they are tied for 5th BEST (4-13 @ Det, 3-12 vs #Jags) at 28% allowed. @Commanders #NFL Well yeah when they get a first down after two plays you don't get a chance to stop them on third down.

that is actually a interesting point; is there a metric that shows if your team gets other teams to third down.

I'm beginning to wonder if this whole thing is starting to unravel - especially on the defensive side. D-line coach getting canned just before the season starts (and they may be worse since then), players getting singled out, players calling out the coaching/game plan, team captain talking about effort, players responding to getting called out...not even counting the recurrent on-the-field issues. With all this squabbling, and the overall performance of the defense so far, I can truly see Philly putting up over 50. In some ways I hope they do so someone will be forced to do ANYTHING to try to fix it. |
