Re: Do we miss Smoot?
smoot was good while he was here buthe decided to go with the money.
pierce on the other hand ,i hate that he left but the way he left it i,m glad his gone. i want the players who wants to be here and be a redskin. if the grass is greener on the other side go for it hell everybody else does.but sometimes the grass doesn,t look so green after all.

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
The team is doing just fine without Smoot and for that matter they have been doing OK these last 2 weeks without LA.

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
Why are we talking about Smoot when we have Giants to play with a playoff spot on the line?

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
Smoot was always hurt! He was a tough bugger, though, and I really liked him. However, there is no question in my mind that I would rather have Carlos Rogers for the next 7 years (and beyond?) than Fred Smoot. Rogers has looked great and that man can hit! He loves to stick his hat in there and hit running backs...which I love. Smoot would sort of chuck himself at runners and hope they tripped over him.
Rogers is definitely a far better Redskin, especially as he will continue to get better. |

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
Uh Fred Smoot is a middle tier corner. He doesn't do anything great. I don't miss Fred Smoot on the field at all.

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
I'm just a little upset that he didn't consider my feelings when he left. No thought at all to the fact I'd have to change my username. It still hurts...
The Vikings face an interesting situation this offseason. When Smoot got hurt nickelback Brian Williams stepped into the starting role opposite Winfield and hasn't given it up even with Smoot back. Williams is a free agent this off-season. Will they keep him?

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
It would be one thing if Smoot was lighting the league on fire, but he basically flopped in Minnesota, both on and off the field. When he wasn't injured he was getting burnt. He was my favorite player when he was here, but I don't get why people are upset that we didn't pay #1 CB money for a guy who's basically a #2. Lamenting the loss of Pierce I get because he had a brilliant season, but Smoot I don't. I mean, I know he has a great personality but come on...

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
yeah it is sad for him,
all the MONEY he awarded only makes him to dumb things it would not be the case if he remains a skin very sad for him |

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
Fred is a good cornerback and, as a fan, I do miss him. But, he is no Champ Bailey. The Skins felt they they could find his talent level elsewhere and save salary cap. For the most, part they have.
Bailey was the turnover specialist (5 interceptions with the Broncos so far). He's the one we have not replaced on defense. |

Re: Do we miss Smoot?
Rogers is the man. Smoot was great but that's history. Carlos will be fine. I like the move. I just wish we still had a first round pick this year so we could maybe draft a pass rusher.
