Your choice for next head coach
We all know the Dan Quinn era is ending, whether at some point in the season or on Black Monday in January.
I would like Adam Peters to bet let go also but I don’t know if that happens. Whether it’s Adam or someone else making the choice, we will be in the market for a new coach in January. So, what’s your choice for our next coach? |

Re: Your choice for next head coach
We know 2 big names will be available for that search: Mike Tomlin and Sean McDermott
That will be the choice of some based on record as coach. Tomlin is attractive to some because he has never had a losing season and is 1-1 in Superbowls. I say no to him. We don’t need a third straight defensive retread. Also, he hasn’t won a playoff game since 2016. McDermott is attractive because he took a losing Bills franchise and made them regular Superbowl contenders. I say no to him also. Another defensive retread and he was fired for not getting over the hump with Allen. We have a young qb in Jayden. Even if we moved on from Jayden, it would be a rookie qb. We need a young offensive coach or even a young offensive retread. We need that coach that will be there and develop Jayden/young qb and grow with that coach. Even if OC moves on, the qb will still have a head coach. Look at the these young offensive coaches and the success they have had. Yeah, we failed with offensive retread Shanny but some offensive retreads like Reid did, their 2nd time around. I prefer younger retread like the Colts head coach, who might do better if he is available. Yes, a young defensive coach just won the Superbowl . After 2 straight defensive bums, we need to try an offensive head coach again. |

Re: Your choice for next head coach
To play this game I did a quick google search of early potential candidates and not a lot on the OC front but a lot of defensive minded possibilities. A few jumped out as intriguing,
Grant Udinski-Jax OC- worked under O'Connell in Minny Both LA Rams coordinators Chris Shula is probably more ready to take over. Nate Sheelhaase is intriguing. Probably needs more time in the OC ranks but apparently is viewed as ready despite coming from the college ranks. Obviously those two are from the McVay tree but something else to consider. The NFC west has developed a team building philosophy that is somewhat different from the rest of the NFL. They have zetro hesitancy to use draft picks to acquire players that help them stay near the top. This fits in alignment with our current GM's philosophy. Clearly all of this can change by end of season but if Quinn is let go these would be the ones I'm most excited about right now.

You can’t go wrong with the McVay tree. How many of his assistants are now head coach.

Re: Your choice for next head coach
It's an activity in fun. First off there is no indication that Quinn is going to get fired now or at end of the season for that matter. I think it safe to say that after this week his seat is warm and his decision making needs to be much improved going forward however.

Your choice for next head coach
Quote:
B-more he already had a warm seat. His seat is literally a pile of ashes now. He is a dead man walking. Idc if the new guy is O or D but he has to bring a competent staff and not ever be a blatant moron for a full 55 seconds of a game like what we saw yesterday. That sequence is never, ever going away. It will be hard to hire a dumber or more do nothing guy. So im ok with almost anyone. |

Re: Your choice for next head coach
Punch what I mean is that the season has to be damn near perfect in his execution for him to be safe. I don't see that happening but if they some how right the season go far into the playoffs I don't see how he gets fired. Most likely he is gone by end of the season.

He’s gotta go 8-4 the rest of the way and get to the playoffs or he’s done IMO

Gotcha. Yeah if you can’t kick a fg with a minute left on the clock then you probably aren’t righting the ship. |
