Re: Playoff Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 1.7.06
I dont know about anyone one else but I'm worried as to what team will show up today. The same team that stomped the cowboys and Giants or the one struggled against the Eagles. I know the Eagles played better than expected, but Im worried here. A positive note is that this is Simms first playoff game and Brunnel is used to it. But man Im worried, we should stomp Tampa and take the crowd out of it early.

I agree. Points EARLY!!!!
I think Eagles game was well coached, both sides. Philly took advantage of GW's aggresive D with the playaction in 1st half but he made grt adjustments.(I just hope TB didnt watch too much of that film when game planning)

I'd imagine we'll try to rush with our front four primarily, with the LB's in a reactive zone to guard against the run. There will be blitzing on late and long, if only to force shorter routes.

When you run better, playaction is more affective.

BTW, according to foxsports.com, the line has closed to TB -1 1/2.
The betting public is on our side.

Re: Playoff Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 1.7.06
I had a very vivid dream last night where the Skins won 57-10.
Ironically, in my dream I slept right through the game, woke up at the end, and got pissed at my wife for not setting the DVR to record it. Then I really woke up, and was so relieved that it was just a dream, and that I would still be able to watch the Skins beat the Bucs 57-10.

Come on Joe, I can't believe you think that's going to be the score...
...more like 57-0.

Re: Playoff Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 1.7.06
I think the Skins came out kinda tentative against the Eagles, because it was a trap game that they should win, but maybe would not have to win with much effort. I think the Skins will play wide open today and come out with a lot of enthusiasm. I think by the end of last weeks game the REAL Skins showed up to play. Especially on Defense. I look for a better Defensive performace today than in the game last Nov .

Re: Playoff Game Thread: Skins @ Bucs 1.7.06
I really think the Bucs will have major trouble with our blitzing schemes. The offensive line for the Bucs is young and they will not be able to stand up to the pressure I see Gregg and the boys putting on them. In the Bucs shut out loss to the Pats, Simms was rattled by the blitz. Get in on him 2 or 3 times real quick and pop him hard and there will be chaos in the Bucs backfield. No question we need to get points up quick to push them into a passing game. That way Cadillac Williams is taken out of the mix.
I really see us winning this one. It might be close but I see a 7 to 10 point margin of victory given we can execute Gregg's game plan. And with that I now say.........ITSA REDSKINS WIN |
